Click on Shadow Complex at the top and there's a button to install the game.
But yeah Epic's client doesn't look that good

Yeah, was installing the game but the client closed and now the Shadow Complex tab is not there. When you click on the Epic Games logo in the top left the game is still listed but clicking on it takes you nowhere as opposed as when you click on some of the other games. I guess they were very badly prepared for the amount of people trying to install?

Here's how the main page looks for me. You can also get there by clicking on the logo at the top left. Clicking on the other games or programs takes me to the tab for that app but not for shadow complex.

I haven't seen anything more than it's free during the holiday. Not sure if just clicking registers the game to the account or what.

Just tried it after a few hours pausing. The installer updated itself, then said it needs to repair something. Then finally a proper client appeared and I am now downloading. Just make sure you choose the correct folder you want to install to as it seemed to have forgotten my Epic folder on D:

if your os is windows, try adding " -http=wininet" to the target path field. it fixed it for me. for further help, this page might be useful.

hm, is it not free anymore? just installed the Epic launcher, and it tells me i can buy the game for 14.99. funny thing is, i have 30€ on my account. i think that's because i paid for UE4, and then it became free.
