Since SG knows all. i need a game recommendations for someone.
two options:

  1. a city building game, but not like Simcity. something similar to Anno series if possible
  2. a mmorpg, but which has good (great?) story, easy controls/combat. WoW has good mechanics, and SWTOR has a great story (for some classes anyway). so something similar.

Thanks in advance. no GA now, but soon (another thread coming up...)

For the second one I would recommend Age of Conan, but fan base is kinda small.

For first one... hmm, maybe Banished? :P It's somehow related.

don't think banished will work. btw, i want that game (this is in no way begging!)

Age of Conan? heard something about it, but not sure what it is. will check it out thanks.

Banished is a great game for sure. How about Cities: Skylines or is that too much like Simcity?

For the second one, I'd recommend The Secret World. The story is engaging, kind of has a mystery feel to it. The combat + controls is similar to most mmos, but you can only have 8 active and 8 passive skills equipped at any time.

Ceaser 3 was (and is) indeed great. but Anno is more laid back which what i was asking for

city thing could be tropico, but i'm sure you know of this series

and mmorpg i'd say guild wars 2 wouldn't be the worst choice. i'm playing it from time to time and it is b2p, not p2p like wow
f2p would be aion, though i wouldn't call it easy

i tried tropico a little. didn't liked it...

guildwars 2 is too much. don't like raids or such.

thought it's not for you anyways? ;)

and gw2 does not have raids like wow has
it has dungeons though, like nearly all mmorpgs i think

it's not. i know that if i didn't like something so does the other person won't like it.
call it similar taste :) will consider GW2. thank you!

honestly? i can ask games for myself, hell my wishlist is 500 games long, don't need anymore :)

Cities: Skylines or Prison Architect for 1, if you don't mind older games the Age of Empires series is always amazing imo.

The only MMORPG I have tried since walking away from too many years on WoW would be Shadowrun Chronicles - Boston Lockdown but I have not given it any time to play yet because my backlog hates me.

EDIT - Idk if I'd even call it a MMORPG though...

love the flow chart :)
but cities is more lie transport tycoon, right?
AoE probably not. not sure about prison architect, the name is a bit off... sounds weird. i mean, think about not being a gamer who heard about the game "hatred" or "bad rats" some names are just no.

Have not tried Cities yet, it's on my list of things to pick up once I tackle what I already have, but to me it reminds me a lot of the earlier SimCity games. It's the only city builder that has actually made me look at that genre of games again after reading reviews and seeing trailers. I have heard that it is a heavier game though and you want to make sure that the PC will be able to handle it.

I guess I don't pay attention to names that much lol, I've heard much worse than any of these games can throw at me. The life and times of a professional cook is filled with things you wish you never heard.

#1 City builder but not SImCity 4.... hmm Tropico, Cultures, Black & White, The settlers, The Guild 2, Caesar, Populous, Majesty 2 maybe(?!).

PS: This one looks like it's pretty inspired from Cultures: http://store.steampowered.com/app/253250

ps: the defend part usully takes over the game. so no. but thanks.

TG2 is werid, played it a bit. so does the "person", still weird.
settlers is old, or new and crap.
populous is way too old. great game!
Majesty is touch and go. cause the mechanics are weird. will try it someday, than we'l see

thanks :)

Stronghold Crusader: you build cities with fortified castle walls in the desert during The Second Crusade and then you get to have fun destroying your opponent's castle in all out medieval war. The best of city building games and RTS games.

fortified implies wars or fighting... even i don't like RTS anymore. don't know why

You don't like FPSs?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

not really. if the story is the points, than i can play it. but just shooting around? no
and btw, i consider skyrim to be boring. one of the more boring games around...
just saying, cause it's one of the popular rpg/fps games (and it is fps even if you don't really shoot most of the time)
