Hi what do you think the best PC Speaker (quality wise) I mean :

  • Real sound, produce near same sound as intended to hear
  • Crisp sound at high volume
  • Sharp and crisp sound at low volume (Sharp mean we can clearly hear every single bit of instruments in the play)

Basically good quality anytime.

Thanks

Just info :
I still using Altec Lansing Expresionist Ultra, maybe time to put the old gentleman to rest.

Sound didn't distort at highest volume so you can play music at max volume unlike standard speaker, crisp sound at low volume.

Assuming you want to keep using a 2.0 system...

Welp, your old one is a cut above mine, but I've been using the Creative Gigaworks T20-II and I think it's pretty nice (bought it because it has a bass "punch" so to speak). There is an upper line of the series that I kinda regret not getting for an extra 30 bucks or so.

EDIT: Just realized you use a 2.1 - and one completely out of my ballpark too, so forget I said anything :-\

I heard Creative speakers have high treble volume and bass have punch.
But the sound quality I think medium.

Thanks for your information, I welcome every input.

I've googled "Best PC Speaker 2015" The results are very various.

Been thinking about getting Audioengine A5+, but the spec lower than my old one

So kinda stuck for sometime now.

Specs do not make a good product. I suggest you read reviews to narrow down the candidates, then find places to listen to them.

I've heard great review for Audioengine 5+,
can it beat Altec Lansing MX6021 in high volume?
how about Audioengine 5+ sound quality at max volume?

sometime I use high volume and high bass for great sounded game/ video.

How about an AV receiver and good bookshelf speakers? If budget is an issue, there are plenty of great options second hand. That's what I use for my desktop - an old Harman Kardon receiver and Tannoy bookshelf speakers. The sound is great and I can bring down the walls with volume if I wanted (I don't).

Hmm I prefer PC speaker for ease of use.
Not a concert speaker, but a PC speaker that can stand real sound at high volume too.

I had my eyes on Audioengine A5+, but still not sure honestly.
Can you test your Audioengine A5+ at highest volume if you don't mind is the sound and the bass very clear/crisp?

As I mentioned, I use an AV receiver and bookshelf speakers with my desktop. I don't own the Audioengine A5+ but was impressed when I heard them in a showroom.

I don't see any difference in ease of use. You hook everything once, and you're good to go.

I used Sennheiser CX 300 II quite standard earphone but I think enough as I rarely use it compared to PC Speaker.

Active studio monitors are probably best bet if you are looking for flat output. I recommend looking into those too.

For a 2.0 set up... Swan D1080-IV or Audioengine 2+ on the cheaper side, Swan M200MKIII or Audioengine 5+ on the more expensive side.

I'm using headphones (ones that did cost about 30 euro, but they are really good). They produce a very good quality sound and if you pick the right ones, they can be very comfy (I sometimes use them more then 4 hours in a row without problem). Another advantage (at least for me) is that you bother no one else with your sound. I also find it easier to pick out specific sounds and directions from where the sounds are coming with headphones, but I never really had good speakers, so I'm not sure if that goes for all speakers.

I have a set of Logitech Z-5300e THZ certified 5.1 speakers and they are amazing. 560 watts, 280 Watt RMS system

The main thing you are looking for is good RMS wattage. The higher the RMS number the better your speakers are going to sound over all and when turned up.

The subwoofer on this is amazing and shakes my whole room. The controller has 7 lights on it, each light has 5 levels for the sound and I almost always have it no higher then the first level of the second light, so on #6 of 35 total levels. Mainly because I don't want the people living near me to hate me. :) Now and then when I know no on is home, I will turn these up to around the #20 mark. Any higher then that and it hurts my ears though the music still sounds amazing.

The latest version of these I believe are the Z-506, but they only have 75 watt RMS. The next step up has 1000 watts with 500 watt RMS. Its called the Z-906. If my speaker system died, I would move to the Z906 even though it is 500 dollars. It would be well worth it I believe.

The Z-906 has a lot of nice controls for it too which allows you to hook in more then just a single computer. Up to 6 audio sources.

"maybe time to put the old gentleman to rest"

Why? You haven't described a need to "upgrade" or replace. So why replace? I have the same 5.1 computer speakers from 11 years ago. Why fix what is not broken?

I mean to upgrade it, I'll still keep it as collection though I've used it for a long time.

I think I like this Edifier S730
What do you think?
The design looks good + additional LCD remote.

Do you think the upgrade worth it?
