The 2018/2019 TV season has been going on for a while now and since I like watching shows a whole season at a time, I have around 7 seasons of on-going shows to binge. I tend to like to multitask while watching shows and since I'm not good at actual multitasking, I'd like to go for something unimportant like video games.

So, do you have any recommendations for relatively casual games that I can play with little or no sound, with preferably no story mode and relatively easy gameplay that doesn't require all of my attention. Bonus points if I can just pause or completely stop playing at a moment's notice.

So for example, games like: Cities Skylines, Car Mechanic Simulator 2015, Dirt 3, Rome 2: Total War.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

EDIT: Video games are very important. But my real life responsibilities hold a bigger importance to me. I apologize to everyone I offended by saying "I'd like to go for something unimportant like video games.".

Thanks for all of your help everyone! Closing the thread since I think we've basically reached most of the best suggestions for now :)

Do you do what I do and essentially play games while watching movies/TV shows?

Reposting my answer from another thread :)

Shop Heroes. I wouldn't say I play this game (mainly on Facebook) when I'm bored, but I like to manage my shop while I'm watching videos on YouTube since crafting and fusing take some time to complete :)

I sometimes play the idle RPG, Merchant, as well

Yeah, totally get it. For me, it's the opposite. I can't really focus on one thing at a time since my brain just strolls off doing whatever like a toddler in a shopping mall. :D

Sunless Sea is my go to game when reading manga. When I'm grinding for free supplies/fuel by waiting 60 seconds to re-do an event. As long as you do this on certain ports like frostfound you don't need to worry about dying from hunger or sanity loss.

I need to start playing that one at some point. It looks so awesome, but I've heard some criticisms that make me also wary of it. Thanks for the recommendation :D

Any sort of simulation game is good for this. Get SimTower or something.

Hmm, maybe going back to classics isn't such a bad idea. Thanks :D

Endless runners like Montaro for example. Super cute, and you can listen to a video or podcast while playing it!

I'd say prison architect and stardew valley are pretty good choices if you dont want to be completley into it, but still have the option to play or do something.

Try out Slime Rancher, it's one of those games with pretty much no pressure and stress, you can do anything at your own pace and it's still fun and feels rewarding at times. It's currently free on the Epic games store too.

Jeesh, this feels like a personal attack :D
I'm 100% guilty of launching a game, minimizing it for a moment and 4 hours later realizing that the game's been waiting on me at the main menu.

Tales of series of games all tend to have auto battle \ ai control all the characters. Sooo sometimes while farming\grinding i'll just have the entire party to ai control while i browse the internet or something.

I love to play Coloring Pixels while watching movies/series. Simpliest gameplay possible, but very addicting and calming.

Football Manager

How does that game treat a person who knows little of football? It looks interesting, but I'm always worried that it'll just be extremely complicated.

Since I am a veteran football manager player, I dont know how they treated exactly. However, they are adding more tips, tricks and tutorials each and every year, so I think you can get used to it 1 or 2 ingame seasons. Also note that there is a option like " I am a new player to these game/genre.". If you like football, I think it is much easier than Fifa or Pes since there is no skill needed to play this game. Your ingame asisstants will help you.

Honestly, I never play games that require me to wait constantly. That just feels like the game doesn't need me around.

I'm looking for the opposite. A game that'll be fine with waiting for me. So if there was something important to see in the show at that point, then I can basically stop doing what I'm doing and focus entirely on the show.
