Wich game from the Bioshock saga did you enjoy the most?
I added it to my whislist, maybe it will get a discount during summer sale. Seems expensive for a DLC.

Was hoping to grab it at Humble Store's 2K Sale but no DLC there. Maybe we will get lucky during Steam Summer Sale.

Bioshock 1 is my favorite.......
it literally blew my mind when i played it for the first time.
and i really really enjoyed Infinite,great characters,story line,dialogues,etc,etc.
shame irrational games got closed and we'll probably never see another bioshock created by Ken Levine...

I don't know about that, I remember reading about Levine staying "inside" 2K despite closing down Irrational. Also it may be good for the saga to have a closure with Infinite and not get over-exploited.

For me Minerva's Den was better than the base game.

I read a lot of people saying that on Steam. Can you expand on that?

There is no 2 in the series
Also System Shock 2 is the best or on par with the first one if you are not a RPG fan (yeah I know you said saga but just I love it so damn much so sorry in advance).

@_@
Didnt work, I'm still conscious xD System Shock is a classic. I did try it back in the day but the day but not too much. I should get it on Steam and give it a chance despite I don't like being scared (neither in Bioshock xD)

Bioshock 2 events take 10 years after Bioshock 1 and we see an event at the beginning that take place a year or two before it (if I remember well). There are spoilers in the setting and in the audio logs so yes, you should play the original first.

2 was a fine game on its own, but not one to carry the Bioshock name, I feel. Story-wise (which is the most important thing for me), it failed to create a memorable story and characters.
Bioshock will forever be one of my favorites. I liked the idea, the setting, the era, story, everything. That said, Infinite was a great game and it had its own appealing parts and unique charm. As a sucker for the original though, I have to choose that first. So Bioshock, Infinite, 2 is my order.

Some people say that if Bioshock 2 hasn't carried the "2" on the title it would have been better. Maybe it was impossible to live up to the general expectations on a sequel (that being said, was made in a year and a half if I'm not mistaken). I think its a good game anyway.

I think the game was really good, I just do not think the original's standard of the writing was met. It felt like it had been made by a different creative team, which I personally did not know until much later after I had played it. So I think part of the reactions might be the sequel curse, but given many really liked Infinite and still disliked 2, I would say the difference in their story and character quality played a part too.
Perhaps a title more indicative of its nature as a spin off would have been met with less harsh reactions, yes. Since Levine is a game auteur and many enjoy his particular style and the richness of his works. At the end of the day though, a good game is a good game, as annoying as the "sullying" of an iconic name for monetary reasons is. And Bioshock 2 was a perfectly enjoyable, good game.
Also, you reminded me I need to play Infinite's DLCs sometime soon. :)

maybe i like more Infinite because i played it later :P

I'm enjoying a lot Bioshock 2. Not only because of the gameplay itself but also for the story, personally I'm liking it as much as the first one.

I enjoyed the first and second Bioshock the most, as it reminded me the most of System Shock 2.
The oppressive atmosphere is just incredible. One feet behind that thick glass is endless space/an ocean, and you have nowhere to run.
Bioshock Infinite is good also, but other than its "successors" it makes use of Freedom which doesn't feel as free as it appears ot be...

I felt claustrophobic in some way in 1 and 2. The water is so well done in both, specially in 2 with the flood or the detail of the drops on the helmet's glass. I also love the underwater parts in B2, yeah you can't do that much other than walking and collect some slugs but they are awesome anyway.

voted 2 (full disclosure not played the third, waiting for the steam summer sale when it will no doubt be on thier for an affordable price :) )

2 doesn't deserve all that hate imo, good vote! ;)

So you recommend Infinite's DLC? I was thinking in also getting them or at least one during the summer sale. Wich one is particularly recommended in your opinion?
Comment has been collapsed.
Highly recommend it.
Burial at Sea Episodes one and two are the only one DLC that add to the story.
Once in a while I do see crazy sales for the season pass though, if you prefer to wait. $3-$5 maybe? $7.50 for Season Pass + Columbia's Finest DLC.
The season pass does not include Columbia's Finest, if I remember correctly.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, it doesnt include CF, but for what I'm reading that one only ads extra initial money/items and some weapon upgrades. Seems the season pass is the best choice.

it will have to be very very cheap hence waiting for steam sales, spent a fortune on games of late (but i can wait i have witcher 3 on my ps4 to play :) )

I recommend System Shock 2. (be sure to get the graphics update to enhance the immersion and scares)

Happy birthday! Guess its just not a game for you.

I bought the triple pack back then as well but Im waiting for a better computer to play 2 and infinite, Bioshock 1 was almost unplayable for me, but still was satisfying playing.

After games for windows live died, my retail version of Bioshock 2, was automatically turned into a free steam version, including Minerva's Den. I was very surprised by it, as the story is really good. Enjoyed it a lot.
Bioshock Infinite is amazing though! Story, game mechanics, and especially the world the game is in. Also there is a basement with a guitar in it. Play it, trust me :D
Comment has been collapsed.
Will try to remember that, does something special happen?. I have played every single piano in 2 and I remember there was a guitar in the first one I think.

Burial at Sea is my favorite, it takes all the best parts of the original and Infinite to make a great experience.
Comment has been collapsed.
The original Bioshock was the best story-wise, but the sequel was much better in the combat aspect.
Infinite was a disappointment on both accounts. I didn't play Burial at Sea though.

Definitely get Minervas den and burial at sea dlcs. 100% worth it

Bioshock 1 & 2 were both up there in my most favoured games ever played. When Bioshock infinite was released, somehow I got it on release day from lovefilm games rental (when they were still around, damn I miss that) and I couldn't believe all the unbelievable reviews so I just couldn't wait. But I just found infinite an absolute drag. While 1 and 2 both kept you using melee weapons and only using ammo when absolutely needed, I found infinite like a shoot em up by comparison, like 3/4 of the game whenever I found ammo I couldn't pick it up because I couldn't carry any more. I also found that it was just samey, need something to get through here, go here, ton of enemies, grab that, ton of enemies, come back to place before, new ton of enemies.
One more complaint that some might find rather strange, no stress at all in Infinite, which really to me didn't make it feel like a Bioshock.
Comment has been collapsed.
I found Bioshock 2 easier than the original. Even though in 2 there are stronger enemies and the "raids" while collecting ADAM the ammo wasn't a problem. In Bioshock 1 many times I suffered because of the lack of ammo or EVE. Imagine confronting a raid in 1 with the "single-hand" combat system.

Bought the Bioschock Triple Pack in the last Summer Sale and realizing that almost a year has passed encouraged me to give the games the hours of play they deserve. Still finishing B2, I guess I'm almost there and then will continue with Infinite. The goal is to finish it before this year Summer Sale. I would like to share some words about the first one and the sequel, will try to avoid spoilers and/or write too much.
Bioshock:
I'm not really into FPS but I have put a lot of hours in classics like Wolfestein, Doom, Duke Nuken 3D and Blood as a kid. Bioshock caught my eye back in the day because of its atmosphere and the sci-fi setting. Guess I was too busy with my studies or other games at the moment and just skipped it. What a mistake! But I have already amended that and finally got trough the Rapture experience. Loved the game, specially the characters that struggle in the city, the story told with the audio logs, the look and feel of Rapture (the architecture, furniture, the ads). Sadly, and I think this has "ruined" somehow my experience, I had to take several breaks during my gameplay because of how tense and nervous the game put me at some points. These breaks were sometimes not hours but days or even weeks without touching the game. I remember specially the part in wich you are crossing a tunnel and the lights go out or the many Splicers around the city wich seemed dead but they weren't... hell the weren't (fell too many times with those xD). The final battle kind of dissapointed me but overall I really liked the game and it has grown a lot in me since then. By the way, I got the "good" ending.
Bioshock 2:
I'm almost done wit it ( I think). So far I'm liking it a lot. The gameplay is improved (hacking and combat) as you all will already know and I think this gives the game a quicker pace. Some parts like Ryan's Atracctions would have been great if they were in the original game. I like more the weapons in this one, they all look trully devastating. There are (a few) new type of enemies, wich is good. I'm enjoying also the story around Eleanor/Lamb/Delta and the ideological fight between Lamb/Ryan in the past and how some audio logs give more information on characters we saw in the previous game. It might feel like a "long DLC" of the first one, but its fantastic experience if you liked the original and stayed wanting more. Talking about DLCs I'm thinking about getting Minerva's Den, can you recommend it?
UPDATE: The last hours of the game were such a fantastic experience imo. Looking at Rapture with "other" eyes, and the ending. I have to say that for me the story is underrated. Internally I'm debating whether I liked more this game or the first one, maybe it is because I played both in a row and in my mind I can't establish clearly the limits. Anyway, I guess that the important thing is that I enjoyed both of them. Will have to get Minerva's Den as soon as possible.
Infinite:
Hope to start it soon. Not in Rapture anymore but I think I will like it, what do you think?
UPDATE: Already installing so starting it this weekend and thanks to all of you my hype is over 9000 >O< Thanks!
