Thanks for the info. Figured out it's free somewhere, because of the sheer number of giveaways created.

i'm not sure if this is a good practice. i'm not complaining but we're already spoiled with all those bundles, and now frequently free games... i'm thankful to these devs but i don't get them.

It could be a marketing tool. To get the word of mouth. Give it for some people free and they might tell about the games to their friends which could buy it. No idea how effective it would be but at least it is a possibility. Also, they could just be generous.

it's a marketing tool for sure but it has more cons than pros for devs imo.

As with bundles, certain methods are used when there is little left. Bundles are great way to get last drop of possible new customers into your game. But it will pretty much kill any market value it has left.

let's hope they won't read these and stop bundling their games, lol.

There are couple moments in game's lifespan. One is release and major of sales usually come from it. After that is the trail which gets bumps with sales and drops in prices. The last moment is when game is either (almost) free or bundled. This is good as different people have different price ranges they are willing to invest into a game. Thus you get a broader market.

if we look at an individual game, it's good for it as long as they take the right time. but i was referring to the sector in general. more bundles make people stop buying games from stores and wait them to be bundled. more free games might even make them stop buying bundles and wait them to be given out free. yes, indiegala and others promote themselves with these giveaways. yes, the devs promote their games with these giveaways. but is it really worth it? apparently no certain answer considering some devs/publishers decisively avoid bundling or giving out their games free and some just put their game in a bundle on the release week. but something looks pretty clear. people reduced buying on the stores with all the bundles and free game promotions. hence bad for the sector imo.

Aye, I agree. Constant sales, bundles and such have lowered the expectations and the limit for individual's allowed prices. Nowadays it isn't that hard to get quite good (and not that old) games well below ten euros. Even couple bucks can get you a good game. Why bother paying more?

I don't get it why would anyone buy any IG bundles in the future, since all of their games will be free a little later.

Great. the 3rd time in a row they give away a game where I have a spare key that I planned to give away here. Can't they give away games that I do not have for a change?
