Finally played Haven Park (I got it during the Summer sale) and it gave me serious cozy vibes a la Short Hike.
I even teared up a little but not in a bad way. It's a lovely game even though interactions with NPC didn't feel as fulfilling as in ASH.
It will definitely scratch your collecting and exploring itch.

I've been playing Dave the Diver a lot, and while I'm greatly appreciating it, just be aware that mid and endgame has a lot of sharks. So many. And there are boss fights. The game is pretty forgiving in the scheme of a few quick time events, and boss fights have endless redo's and are tame in the scheme of Boss Fights (TM), but it might not qualify as 'cozy' for people.
But it does have that loop that satisfies in farming games. Gather things, interact with people (though this is more linear), there's farming aspects. I find many parts relaxing and such, and rate the game highly, just wanted to give people a heads up. Sharks.

Hm. I played the demo and thought it was pretty cozy but yeah it was just the intro so it was shark free. I think I will still get it but probably will play only when my anxiety is on good behavior.
Thanks for the warning

Autumn is coming, and with it, getting cozy inside and play something nice, with a cup of hot beverage on your side.
What's better for that, than some familiar spoOOOooOOOoopy themes mixed with some creativity and silliness?
Start it with a bit of detective work, to get to the games ;)
The Darkside Detective

Cool GAs, Adam!
I remember winning the first one and going through it and feeling like NOOOOOO when I realized it was to be continued.
And I still haven't picked up the sequel. Shame on me.
So so many easter eggs for the P&C classic fans and scifi fans in the first one.

Core Keeper is free this weekend. Feels a bit like a caving Stardew Valley, with more useful combat. Or maybe a Stardew-ish Minecraft, but less stressful. Anyway, enjoying it with this preview. Has a creative mode, or hard mode, depending on where you want to go.

I was lucky to get a copy of this very chill and cozy game, which was released a few days ago, and I really enjoyed it.

A desperately needed cozy bump! and a small giveaway for Four Last Things (Lvl 4 + SGtools)
Am I the only one who finds point 'n click adventure games very cozy?
Comment has been collapsed.
of course not! Pretty sure a lot of people, including me, find such games very cozy and relaxing. Great way to unwind after a long game or an annoying day.
Comment has been collapsed.
I totally don't want to play this game, but as a person who had many required art history classes, I absolutely love this game idea.
Also, I agree that some point and clicks are cozy. I grew up with early Monkey Island and Kings Quest and Quest for Glory or whatever, and I recall some stressful moments. Beer eating thru mugs, scorpion chases, awkward sword fights. Much as I love Star Trek 25th anniversary, man, those phasers.
But yes, lots of the more recent games are interesting and cozy!

I also grew up with those games, especially the Lucasarts ones. I think that's part of the reason why I find them so comforting and cozy! Thankfully, I didn't play too many of the earlier Sierra On-Line games, so I was spared the brunt of of their awkward mechanics, like the instant death traps and such.
I'm glad that these games are still being made.

Point & Click games can be absolutely cozy! Most of them anyway. Some of them can be a little dark for real coziness but the P&C gameplay is generally stress-free. I think it's because it's like watching a movie with some interaction and you can do it at your own pace.
Which ones are your favorites that you played?
Besides LucasArts (all hail Monkey Island and The Day of the Tentacle), my favorites I played in recent years would be Kathy Rain and Bear with Me

I had to sort my games by P&C tag, as I couldn't recall what I'd played!
Burly Men at Sea was charming. Kind of wish they could have gone even farther with it, but a nice short idea.
Cats and the Other Nine Lives has some fun story, where you play as the cat exploring past memories. A few awkward platforming moments, but otherwise really enjoyed it.
Havsala has a feel of a small area Myst. Interesting lore of different time periods.
Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog (free!) was a fantastic homage to the games, plus fun to play with my kid. A bit like Sonic Ace Attorney-ish. Very linear.
Wow. I have so many I need to play in my backlog.... For past ones, I also enjoyed original Monkey Island. The original game we played was on floppy disk, and there's a part where they tell you to insert random disks...just don't think that joke would hold anymore! Original Leisure Larry pixel art version was hilarious when I was 12. :D Doubtful it holds up to my fond memories.

Burly Men at Sea was charming
Oooh I really want to play this one. And that made think there was another one I loved that I won here called Old Man's Journey.
I'll make notes of the others because I have heard of some but not all (Havsala for example)
The murder of Sonic the Hedgehog will go down in history as the best executed April Fool's Day operation ever.
The original game we played was on floppy disk, and there's a part where they tell you to insert random disks
Gen Z kids are still wondering what is a disk and where they are supposed to insert it though... and I will not check Tik Tok to see what they have attempted and how it turned into a trend. Although to be fair if Gen Z kids were even placed in front of a device running Monkey Island, the only thing they'd be wondering is if there's a trick to make it run in 4K

Which ones are your favorites that you played?
LucasArts games, of course :D My favorite is Day of the Tentacle followed closely by Grim Fandango.
DotT was one of the first adventure games that I played that had voiced dialogue and, surprisingly, it's much better than in many modern games. I loved its humor and how you could switch between different time periods. Not to mention the fact that you could play Maniac Mansion within the game itself! We had the CD-ROM edition that came in a large Toblerone triangle box which apparently is worth a few hundred $$$ to collectors now.
Shoutout to Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. One of the better LA games that doesn't receive enough attention.
We didn't play a lot of Sierra games, but I recall not liking their serious fantasy settings and the fact that you could die frequently. Gabriel Knight 1 & 2 were the exception. I loved those games and they made me a Jane Jensen fan, even if her output since then has been disappointing. I played Moebius: Empire Rising by her recently and could see sparks of her great storytelling, but it has too many rough edges to recommend.
Other childhood favorites, if for no other reason than nostalgia, include The Riddle of Master Lu, Mission Critical and The Journeyman Project 2. I have a weak spot for games with sci-fi or archaeology themes.
Of more recent games, I can easily recommend Lost in Play if you want something simple and lighthearted. It's one of those games that puts a smile on your face. Another one in the "short and simple" category is Detective Grimoire and it's sequel Tangle Tower which I haven't had a chance to play yet.

Day of the Tentacle will forever be in my Top 3. The time traveling/switching and the crazy humor are so embedded into the gameplay and puzzle solutions that you have to upend your entire logic to play it through and it just makes it totally immersive.
We had the CD-ROM edition that came in a large Toblerone triangle box which apparently is worth a few hundred $$$ to collectors now.
The kind of things you regret selling at a garage sale along the line.
Shoutout to Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.
I looooved that one. I am fairly disappointed that the new Indiana Jones game will be a first person action game. Fate of Atlantis was so good and so much like the movies.
they made me a Jane Jensen fan, even if her output since then has been disappointing
I was actually going to say I enjoyed Cognition but then checked and she was only a consultant on that.
Oooooh my brain tingled at the mention of The Journeyman Project 2! I spent so much time in this game!
Of more recent games, I can easily recommend Lost in Play if you want something simple and lighthearted
It's been on my wishlist. I missed the last sale but it's definitely on my radar. Detective Grimoire though, I had never heard of but it looks perfect for my gf so I'll definitely gift it to her and then play it :D
Of the ones I played in recent years, the ones that stuck the most with me were Don't Escape and Gibbous

I guess its subjective. Im an impatient person, so I occasionally get mildly frustrated during P n C games. But I do enjoy them, not sure if its as cozy to me.

It's never a good sign when reviews are unanimous about what's wrong with a game but the lack of guidance most people are complaining about may be fixed easily by the devs, if they choose to so there's still hope.
Of course nobody ever amends their review so the rating will most likely stay negative but I'll follow it so see if there's an update that addresses these concerns.

GOG sent me an email ad with cozy and pixel art games in their Fall sale, but then I click through and can't find a way to get an easy link for them! I thought it would make a good bump.
Instead, you get a small story and a boring potato. 🥔
Perhaps the potato is cozy though.

Looking for a reason to bump.
So, I added Reka, Little Witch in the Wood, and Potionomics to my wishlist a million years ago. Anyone have any favorite witchy games? Potion Permit was fun, and brews things, but is more doctor centric, though has a sort of witchy vibe. I played the demo for Strange Horticulture, and that was fun, but I'm not sure it was full price fun.

I was actually going to bump with a long list of demos yesterday but I got lost in actually playing them before Nextfest ended so thanks for the bump
As far as witchy games go, I think it might only be a mild spoiler considering the game description spells it out (pun intended) but Wylde Flowers is also a nice one. It does have some more regular lifesim going like quests for people and actual farming but witchery is at the heart of the story and there is some spells and crafts very much involved
Mages of Mystralia is also pretty fun although it involves less witchery and more magic. I do believe the term witch is used but there will be no cauldron or anything that witchy.
Haven't played it yet but it's been on my wishlist: The Cosmic Wheel Sisterhood. Tarot, witches and sisterhood? Yes please

Welcome to the Cozy Zone, the corner of SG dedicated to sharing and discussing cozy games. Get yourself a blanket, some hot chocolate or herbal tea, get comfy in your chair and enjoy the good vibes and the good gibs too.
I'm certain most of you are familiar with the concept of "cozy gaming/games" by now, but to avoid any confusion here are some excerpts I stole from articles written by people who are better with words than me, which should give you the idea:
Links: 1 2 3 4
With that out of the way and skipping the whole "in these hard times we all need more cozy time in our lives" preamble (heh), let's get straight to what the Cozy Zone is
supposed to beabout:❣ My giveaways of cozy games. To be honest (at first) I just needed a place for my next gibs, as it so happened that I was in possession of some amount of keys for this particular type of games, but instead of going with just another one-time train I decided to make it an ongoing thread. So
for nowthe plan is to do GAs for this thread with games of the cozy kind on a somewhat regular basis.✽ Your giveaways of cozy games. Everyone is welcome to join me in making GAs for games that fit the theme. No strict guidelines, use your own discretion when deciding if the game is good for this thread. In general, fitting games usually have one or more of these tags on Steam: Relaxing / Family Friendly / Cozy / Wholesome / Cute / Comedy; and here are some tags that these games usually don't include: Violent / Gore / Survival / Psychological Horror / Hentai / Dark / War / Military / Dystopian (these are just some examples of some of the most popular tags). In any case, if a game seems cozy enough to you, feel free to give it away. Just make your GAs private (aka invite-only).
Special Cats tag exception: as a result of the FCDSCGC-2023 event, cats were proclaimed the mascot animal of our thread and thus any game that has a 'Cats' tag on Steam is allowed to be given away here, whether it's cozy or not.
Every active giveaway will be featured in the OP (if I'm around at the time it's running).
☯ General discussion of cozy games. Random cozy games discoveries, thoughts on latest games you've played, discounts alerts and everything else related to games of the cozy kind.
◒ Recommendations for cozy games. Do share your favorite games, well known or not. Hidden gems are especially welcome though, cause many niche games often go largely unnoticed.
✧ Cozy events. So, events have become a semi-regular occurrence in our thread, and I'm looking to make them an integral part of the Cozy Zone experience moving forward. If you want to host an event in the thread which requires some coordination or have an idea for a future event, please contact me on Steam; otherwise, feel free to post your cozy trains, celebratory GAs, puzzles and whatnot at any time. You can also contribute by either partially or fully sponsoring the prize pool and/or by donating cozy games for events (as I might struggle to fully cover these prize/GAs-wise on my own, so some help is always appreciated; again, contact me for this).
If you wish to just bump the thread, feel free to so, but keep in mind that the recommended way to bump is the cozy way, which is achieved by posting:
♦ pics of your adorable pets ♦ pics of your cozy gaming space ♦ pics of anything cozy or cute ♦ light-hearted memes ♦ links to relaxing music (make sure to check out our own cozy playlist ♫ too) ♦
One rule in this thread: good vibes only, so please let's make it comfy for everyone and keep the negativity to the minimum.
❦ Active giveaways ❦
from Ellendyl ⇝ Euro Truck Simulator 2 (lvl 2+)
❀ from s4k1s ⇝ 4 games cozy Cakeday train (lvl 1-2+) ❀
