Hi knsys,I'm not sure if you are already working on this problem.Is it possible to store/save all activated wins and/or multiple wins in "your" database to prevent cheating or bypass sgtools checks ? Some sg users (temporarily) change the status of their wins to pass the sgtool check for other sgtools giveaways :(
It's also a misuse of giveaway feedback and a damm good reason to permaban those users.

I do record the not activations of everybody that syncs his/her account if there has been a variation. So I can provide info for support to permaban them.
Another thing is if support is willing to actually do something about it.

Sorry I mean marked as not received. I store all history of marked as not received from every user that sync (either manually or automatically).

I had to un-receive a giveaway because the gift was a different game with the same name though that was not immediately apparent. Now the giveaway gateway flags me as having a non-redeemed win if I try to enter an SGTools filtered GA.
But I must thank the tool for notifying me of the problem. I may not have noticed on my own for quite a while.
If the creator decides to switch the giveaway to the game that was provided or delete the giveaway instead of providing the correct game, would the flag eventually disappear on it's own?

The flag will disappear as soon as you mark as not received or the giveaway gets changed.
Marking as not received will flag the cheat detection system, but it's checked manually before banning, so don't worry about that :)

the group admission checker works in chrome, but in firefox the button is disabled.

How feasible would it be to add a time limitation for GA sent - eg. User has sent 2 public GA in the past x weeks/months
(This would be a separate rule to the existing total CV Sent)
Alternatively being able to check for Real CV sent in the past x weeks/months. I believe it is useful to include users who are regular contributors - instead of looking at a static CV Sent figure that has perhaps not increased in years
It would also permit creating GAs to give back to others who give. Users who do not put up GAs (depending on the sgtools custom rules) might not be eligible to enter.

Since sgtools doesn't cache giveaways, this would mean tons of extra parsing as it'd have to check for every entry that it does indeed fulfill the rule by parsing won, sent and recalculate partials cvs.

When a user passes an sgtools check and the giveaway url is shown to them, do they have to click it to be considered a valid entrant by sgtools? Or is copying the link and pasting it into a new tab an acceptable way to enter as well? I ask because I had an entrant who showed up as invalid according to sgtools but their profile met the requirements and they told me they put the link in a new tab to go to the giveaway.

Sgtools marks you as a valid entry before sending you the url, so if you see the url it means you are a valid entry.
He is obviously lying to you, he is an invalid entry and should be reported back to me so I can ban him from sgtools.

Check if it's in the bundle list. If it's in there you get 15% of the us steam retail value, if it's not on there you get the full steam retail value... (or you can't give it away, games that can't be given away cause they were free are not on the list either as far as I remember)

I got flagged as not having activated the following game:

I'm not sure what the exact history of this game is that caused it to register Opposing Fronts as a DLC for the base game - "Company of Heroes (New Steam Version)" - but I suspect that that "New Steam Version" bit has to do with it. The entry in my library doesn't link to any existing store page anymore, either, and the store page for "Company of Heroes" doesn't show me as owning the game. They really screwed the pooch here, somehow.
Anyway, I did activate all my wins, so, umm.. Yyyyeeaaahhhhh.. False positive ;)

I think this was already mentioned, but I just stumbled over it again: Maximum level works slightly different from what I usually expect. If I set it to 7 I would expect to be able to join it, but I'm not cause 7 turns into 7.00 while my level is 7.25. Maybe you could a) add a note upon rule creation and b) always display it with the trailing digits cause that makes it more obvious...

Yeah levels are fine grained, you can choose exactly at what level do you want to make the cut.

Is there a way or calculator for single game real CV value? Like if I type in FarCry Primal it give me the full corresponding value but if I type a bundled game it'd give me the adjusted bundled value?

My account doesn't match the rules because of a giveaway I won two years ago. The giveaway was supposed to be for Zombie Driver HD, but instead I got just Zombie Driver. I didn't even know they were different games, just accepted, marked as received and life goes on... One day my account was suspended and I solved this issue through a ticket support (told them what happened) and everything was just fine. But now this problem rose to the surface again. How can I proceed so the "Not Activated" function stops calling me out?

- Buy or trade the game and activate it on your account

Hey, Governor of Poker 2 gives me troubles for a while now. I thought launching it and running for a while would solve the problem of this game not beeing seen by SGTools on my account (and marking it as not activated in result), but today I finally fought my laziness to do that and it proved ineffectual.
I do have Premium Edition of this game in my library and I think my issue might have to do something with separate APIs of basic game and premium edition as shown in this thread: Steam forums
Funny thing is, it wasn't a problem on SGT until some time ago, 2-3 months tops I think. I don't enter many giveaways nowadays so it didn't seem like a huge problem but now when I really want to enter one I'm unable to.

hallo, some days ago i entered a sgtools ga and i found that "You were caught trying to cheat the system or entering a sgtools protected giveaway without permission."
mmm, i've been trying to find a list of cheating behaviours or something like that, without success. not that i have cheated or something but, just to know the rules of the system.
besides, i did not circumvent the system entering any protected ga.
at the end of the day i'm banned and i don't know why. in fact i'm not able to find either any special rules/faq anywhere or some contact besides this thread.
of course i'll survive.
i just wanted to point out that the information related to banning risks is lower than expected and even false positives are likely to happen (when i look to my very case).

You are permabanned for entering a SGTools protected giveaway with a leaked url.
Banning behaviors are obvious, if you break in a protected giveaway with a leaked url, or you leak the url or you try to cheat the system, you get banned.
I just double checked your case, it's definitely not a false positive.

i see. i only enter ga url posted on this site (forum or other gas), itstoohard and sgtools (while it lasted ofc). the only exception i remember is entering a couple ga posted on twitter by the op of the gas themselves. it means that if i entered a ga from a leaked url, it was without my knowledge. which of course doesn't mean that i didn't break a rule.
my only suggestion is that sgtools proposes a policy to their gifter users asking them to add a disclaimer on their descriptions. many do it, but it's not always like that. if i knew from a disclaimer that the ga i was entering was a sgtools protected ga and that i was accessing without passing though the filter, i'd react. rules are good, but there must be mechanisms for people to follow them.

I made three region locked private giveaways, levels 1, 2 and , then I tried to get the link for them with the rules test enabled but all I get is this error: all three of the giveaways are private as you can clearly see on my profile, thanks in advance.
Edit: I tested another private ga (non region locked) and it worked properly, I guess it has something to do with that then.

Question for you knsys. First some background. I won a copy of assassin's creed 3 on steamgifts (year ago). Was extremely happy! I was really happy with the uplay key I activated. Unfortunately this is steamgifts and so I was punished for not activating. No biggie right?!? I got a 3 day temp ban for getting a uplay key. I did my time and now its done. No it will never be done because the active community feels i'm an unworthy steamgift member and locks their giveaways behind requirements I can't meet.
I want repair this and do it correctly and I got some advice that I should try to contact GA creator. I added on steam and sent a message through steamgifts but I don't believe they are active here anymore. I plan on contacting them to ask for a AC3 steam key and if they won't or I don't get a response to my friend request or steam chat. Can I then change to not received without penalty? In the case of no friend add or (they have disabled comments on their profile) response through steamgifts how long should I wait?

Well you didn't receive the game after all, so you can mark it as not received without further ado.
Since it's a case were the creator delivered a non-steam key, you cannot even ask for support to change it to the right game. You can ask support to delete the giveaway but I'm not sure that they'll do that.

SGTools and itstoohard.com (which I'm sure you love too) are external sites that offer complementary functionality to SteamGifts. They don't break any rules and the founder and owner of this site (CG) has never claimed that they do.

Just a heads up, Steam does not report ownership of Star Wars Rebellion correctly, so SGtools reports it as an unactivated win.

I recently won a giveaway, but the key is a duplicate (somebody else activated it). So I won't be able to activate and I will mark it as not received. Will this effect my ability to enter Sgtools giveaways, like those with the "activated all gifts" rule? Also, if I managed to win the game a second time and was able to activate that, would that effect my ability to enter with the "multiple wins" rule?

Ran into a weird glitch in the matrix yesterday. SGTools kept failing me with "Your account is flagged as having some unactivated Wins or your profile is Private." even though checking myself showed everything was in order.
SG support redirected me here yesterday but I decided to wait a bit before posting. Today however, the matrix appears to have been stabilized as I'm no longer being rejected. Just letting you know.
