One last piece of advice. Don't warn the ones your going to report. Or you may regret it down the line.

And steam support for issues regarding Steamtrades reps take 6-12months if they aren't too busy ;p. Still waiting on mine but then again I did tell him not to beg on forums so I should of known they would abuse the system lol.

99percent chance they haven't. Support doesn't check so unless giveaway creator checks then no one reports them.

"No one reports them"

I've got 35,000 tickets that prove otherwise.

Is there any particular order where you are able to address reports?
Are you able to sort reports by type?

I ask this because we can no longer bump tickets, and I still have a ticket for suspected multi accounting that I need to be quickly looked into.

doesn't matter - support knows, and will not ban them again. Of course it's a little more work for support...

I think there would be a log for each user detailing the ban and reason...at least I hope. It would be so time consuming to check otherwise @_@

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Of course they have that. What I meant is that by raising these support request, you generate more work for support even if they end up not banning anybody (because the reported user was already banned for that offense because somebody else had reported him earlier)

Strange thig: When you request new winner, you can coose reason:

Regifted or Did Not Activate Previous Wins This Month

But when you want to report user:

Not Activating Won Gift

So no expiration when you don't want to reroll. Let them suffer!

You actually made me go back and recheck old giveaways Ive done. I found a guy that hadnt activated the game I sent (around 5 months ago or so), and hadnt activated a couple others that he had won recently. I guess one bad apple out of 18 isnt so bad, but I reported him anyway.

I am new to SG ( 3 month however SG says 1 year in my profile ! ( probably there`s some sort of problem, anyway ). I was banned for 10 days & i accepted that because i knew that i had broken this site rules ! ( however the second 5 days was not my mistake and was some sort of misunderstanding ! )

Rules are rules ! no matter when he/she did something wrong . :)

Break a rule = get banned

Simple as that. You must not get away from the punishment. Accept the penalty and fix your attitude in the future.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

In this case, why not make an "Activation Confirmed" button once the gift is marked as delivered? To be honest I've never checked if my gifts have been activated or not, I understand it's the site's rules but I kind of hope that the game stumbled upon someone who enjoyed it.

Mods and support have too much work to do already so maybe a button might help right?

This is one of....the best ideas I have heard.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

I don't see why it matters. Out of the hundreds of games I have given, I'm pretty sure there is a cumulative 2 hours played on all of them. Combined. I don't see why people care what they do with the game once they've won it.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

Agreed. It's the sites rules though, with the power you posses you could even send Carl to go look for those people who didn't activate their games.

Comment has been collapsed.

Yeah, but you know... Site says activate, so we should activate. If you win, activate and don't play... Never mind, that's how random works. Sometimes game goes to someone who really wants it and will play it to the end, sometimes ends up on a hoarder's account. As long as it's activated by the winner it's good either way.

Rules are good, sometimes. But if you're good with breaking them, if I ever win any of your giveaways, I'll trade the game for something from my wishlist :P

I've entered around 1,500 giveaways and won 1 game. That's awesome, I am very grateful! But sometimes it's frustrating thinking about people with scripts or spamming to collect games I would enjoy just to increase their game count (especially because I cannot afford them). When I give a game, I'd rather give it to someone who needs it or will actually enjoy playing it instead of someone who will let it rot away to increase their backlog.

There's really no need to be an asshole about this, and that's definitely how your coming across. And for what? To make yourself feel superior? You gain absolutely nothing from this.

And no, I googled it to confirm and it was the first thing that popped up, as my screenshot below shows. I have used the word in this manner for YEARS and you are the first person to complain about it/challenge me about it.
Again, many words have many definitions.

Now, if you would be so kind as to stop being a troll, move on, and leave me alone....thanks. Have a great day

doesnt the system automatically bans you if you dont activate a game you won when it syncs with steam? so they should have paid the price the ban is not permanent, but i believe that if someone did the crime should pay the time

No, it does not automatically ban. That would be a bad system since sometimes steam doesn't report things correctly.

Permalink

I think so. That's why I have 1 ticket that's 2 years old.

yes i think they should be punished.... just because someone gets away with a crime due to the ineptitude of the people who are supposed to enforce the rules and stop them, doesn't mean they should get away with it.

That said, as far as steamgifts goes, I used to report people who did this. nothing ever happened, so i lost faith... i dont even bother encouraging or recommending people to waste their time reporting things these days, so if i were you id just let it go. yes they deserve punishment, but they wont get it.

Comment has been collapsed.

I didn't vote, because I guess it depends.

I'm not sure if support keeps track of the exact circumstance the person was suspended, if anything, so, if it's something really old, they might have gotten suspended already...

But since it's directly related to your GAs, I think you could go ahead and do it. If not, you can always blacklist them.

I see that the winner of your first giveaway never activated the game. Hardly that the guy profit from that game because it has 0 value (gravity badgers). I voted NO.
