I've been on a buying rampage for old SNES games of all varieties. All the Donkey Kongs, all the Mega Mans, all da Zeldas, etc.

I recommend DOS version of Price of Persia and GBA version of Metroid Fusion / Metroid Zero.

Spyro the Dragon 1-3, Crash Bandicoot 1-3, et cetera.

They're what I grew up with and they're still excellent.

My sister and I play the first Spyro every once in a while for fun.

Since there's one mentioned rampage above, so I will recommend Rampage :) Me havent played the second but the first was damn good

My brother and I are going to play through the RE series. He just got 6 and loves it but doesn't know the backstory.

As for me, I'd like to play through pretty much everything already mentioned in this thread. Some games I remember when they came out (Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Zone of Enders, among others) and played them during my childhood.

I haven't been playing any old console games lately, but I have been playing some old PC games, like Arcanum.

As for a recommendation, check out Grandia for PS1 or on PSN (or use an emulator =P), if you haven't played it yet. It's really good! Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are also some good games for PS1.

Nes and Snes will always be the best platforms, but for PS I'd higly suggest Chrono Cross, Phtanom Brave, Disgaea, Disgaea2, Makai Kingdom, Grandia, Kingdom Hearts, Devil May Cry series.

All-time favorites: FF1, FF5, FF6, FF9, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Live-A-Live, Makai Kingdom

Go to Good Old Games and you'll find plenty of awesome classics to enjoy.

Hm, most games I played in my childhood I also played recently or have played to death on emulators, but I wouldn't mind having a physical copy of Pokemon Yellow and a dandelion Game Boy Color just to relive those nostalgic feelings of the game that got me really into video games and through the lonely years of school.

I was playing FFX a while back on my ps2, and one of the need for speed games.

I'm hooked on the Thief series, though it's PC and whatnot. I killed almost 35 hours into it and am still at 3/4 in progression, after taking a look at a walkthrough list of levels in Gold. This is the first time I'm actually finishing the game, though to be fair, I started playing it like 3-4 times before, only to quit 3-4 levels in because of losing my savegames. Well, how good is it? So far KOTOR was my all-time favourite game of all time. Now it's Thief Gold, and I haven't even finished it yet. That means that, at this point, it has no chance of fucking up at all. None.

Other than that, I just about finished SHOGO, which is a masterpiece; I knew this one from an old CD with a bunch of demos so I got it from GOG a few months back. What is it like? If Evil Dead 2 and Troll 2 had a child that was a videogame, SHOGO would be just about that. It's giant mech and regular FPS blend, but it's clinically insane on such levels that it's hard to even acknowledge what you've just seen or heard in it. Truly, it's entertainment gold. Fucking go for it.

As a few extras, I play a lot of Half Life 1 multiplayer these days (not getting old, I tell ya), and just about reinstalled Rollcage and Freespace to have some nostalgia. Also considering Carmageddon games too, but those would flat out nail me to my chair, so I'll approach them when I have tons of free time.

I finished FF VIII and IX on a psx emulator about a year ago. A few moths ago I completed The Legend of Dragoon. If you like FF check it out. Did play them all on the psx back in the days but never finished them though.

Play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 - or the first Crash Bandicoot (both PS1).

Some games I loved to play on PS1 (you should try them):

Crash Bandicoot 1,2 and 3, Crash Team Racing, Suikoden 1 and 2, Breath of Fire, Red Alert 1...

I played last summer few ps1 games, I just love them. If you want to play some good ps1 games, play spyro 1,2,3, crash 1,2,3, and metal slug series. I got yesterday gta complete pack so I'm gonna play gta 1,2,3 and vice city again :D

I'm not sure how good it looks nowadays but I enjoyed this game... Shogo: Mobile Armor Division
