Edit: It seems that most of you guys have problem solving it. Just remember that before the last two sentences, the temporary answer is constantly changing.

Edit 2: After much consideration, I decided not to post another hint for now, you should search more effectively. But I will slightly help you if you can't understand the meaning of a sentence.

Note: A lot of solvers just used this big hint and guessed South Africa. The only great sport event which was held in given range (in comments) was FIFA world cup and the Olympics.

11 - The Region which was under the influence of another religion ==> "Andalusia" which was and is under the influence of "Islam" ||||| Sources you could use: Wikipedia - Google - A decent knowledge of history - An easy guess: There are only 2 famous religion that have influence in some regions of another one, Islam and Christianity.

12- What did they call Andalusia when it was under the influence of Islam or What did the Muslims call Andalusia ==> Al-Andalus ||||| Sources you could use: Wikipedia (Probably any page about Andalusia and Spain history and Geographic) - Google
