I guess gifting a gift is accepted for lots of people.

I came here to make this same point. Regardless of what some people consider a valid or valued giveaway, there are still many many people willing to spend points on the opportunity to win this game. This speaks volumes and should not be ignored.

Bundles are blocked to support charity and not because the site might get flodded. And I don't see the problem with people having some free wins and goodies. Please stop this elitist crap..

Individual bundle keys are disallowed because the site would be spammed with them AND because you could easily get at least $30-40 worth of games gifted from your $1 bundle (previously $0.01 bundle), if not much more. Some things, like entry requirements for some groups, are based on this, and allowing those giveaways would be a way of abusing that system. These giveaways of things which weren't even cheap, but free, are basically the same thing. If people weren't limited to two each (assuming no multiple Reddit accounts prior to the keys being given out, as new accounts aren't eligible), it would likely require a change in policy. This is not about "elitism," but about honesty and fairness in the value of what has been gifted.

True enough. Sadly, having a proper giveaway doesn't guarantee it will go to someone who really wants it, either. As some people posting here in the past have demonstrated, some folks will enter pretty much anything just to be entering. I'd suggest asking around to people you know, your friends list, other members of groups you're in, etc. to try and find them a good home.

Why do you care what value it has? It is the thought that counts and not the value dude..
And I am pretty sure that those that don't want it are the minority of the community.

Did you even read my post?

It's a way to abuse the gifted value system. The rule keeps someone from being able to boost their value to hundreds or thousands of dollars' worth of games gifted with an investment of only a few dollars. What's so hard to understand about that, "dude"?

Because it ain't true. And again: Why do you care what value someone gifted be it via bundle or else? And how can you abuse it all? If some groups have shitty requirements based on some number somewhere on the internet, then it should not be our problem. Also, if you submit a bundle, it is marked as such. And that's what I am talking about, nothing else. I see why individual keys are blocked but I still dislike it very much, because this site should be about the spirit of giving and having a decent community and not about who gives what. Yes, I hate those 1€ buyers because they DO hurt the industry and the charity, but it is the consequence of the offer and we have to live with it.

There seems to be a miscommunication. This isn't about submitting bundles themselves. That's all fine and dandy. It's about breaking them up and submitting the keys as individual games, which are credited at their full retail price. So, say 4-6 games at $5-20 apiece is $20-$120 worth of games credited for $1. THAT's the problem. Submit full bundles all you like. That's allowed and I'm totally fine with that. Sorry if I wasn't clear before. Also, giving out individual keys here in the forums or the chat or anywhere else besides an actual giveaway is fine and highly encouraged. Making giveaways with them to boost one's feedback stats is highly frowned upon, however. We don't want to discourage people's generosity. That's what the whole site is about, after all. We just don't want people exploiting the system is all.

how about enforcing bundle games to be added separately and giving no credit for the giveaway ?
This is a bit stupid to create a giveaway page and disallow giving away
Also you can get bundle games cheap as long as the bundle is still being sold, after you just cant

You know how there's a semi-official Steam Gifts group? It'd be cool if there was a similarly semi-official, admin-approved group for individual bundle key/Lucid/Faerie Solitaire/etc. giveaways.

Lol I offered a ton of solutions before. Here are some that could help SG.
Lucid by x1 ends in 2 hrs, 34 entries, 4 comments. enter giveaway
Lucid by x2 ends in 5 hrs, 23 entries, 2 comments. enter giveaway
etc...
Anyway offered alot of other solutions before. These are the top 2 that came to mind since then.

For anyone who has questioned the policies with Indie bundles in the past, just look at the amount of Lucid literally clogging the front pages. It's floods like this that contributed to the ever evolving policy. They are not sour pusses. But trying to make the site usable to all.
If you have any constructive processes that would help out it's of course appreciated. But the lock out of the bundles seems to have worked the best so far.
