okay...something weird is going on I mean today I entered youtube...avast says that it has detected a threat ...I'm like "okay?!"then I start watching another video and YET AGAIN a threat has been detected...and it does it on every single video and not only on videos but on almost every single page even if it is a youtube channel...and this is only in youtube -.- I made a scan and Avast didn't find any viruses and yet it is going crazy in youtube...wtf?can anyone help me with that or I will have to re-install Avast?

EDIT: Going in silent mode fixes the thing. But watching the people in the forum arguing is so funny to watch :D

EDIT2: Obviously my English sucks...

How about common sense?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

It's nearly impossible to use common sense as a valid antivirus program anymore.
Lots of sites are hacked all the time, even popular ones. JDB's can be easily installed to run when someone visits the site. You don't even have to accept a java applet anymore, it can be done silently. You visit a website, boom you are infected with a keylogger/RAT.

Gl on that common sense.

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

You realize that keyloggers and RATs are made to run silently without you knowing. You could like flashmozzq said, be part of a bitcoin miner, costing you lots every month, or even be part of a botnet. You could also be someones slave on a RAT program, giving them full access to everything and even things such as disabling your keyboard, mouse, opening websites at any time, root access to your entire harddrive, etc.

It's 2013 and JDB and RATs/keyloggers are increasing all the time. So I guess if you still don't care, GL.

Well I stopped believe in anti-viruses since AVG 2011 detected virus in AVG 2010 , dam my PC went nuts Xp

Anyways , which virus it told you it found?

Permalink

Comment has been collapsed.

it doesn't find viruses it just appears to find youtube as a thread to my PC :D

edit: your mistake is that you have more than 1 antivirus programs installed at once this is something really serious I mean they start detecting each other as viruses and they are skipping viruses which enter in your PC and destroy it...having 2 anti virus programs at once is like having 0 because they are fighting each other...

So maybe you can tell him to ignore this thread

And about what you said , I didn't have 2 virues programs installed :) , I had AVG 2011 installed and I downloaded the setup of AVG 2010 from their website , and he said that this .exe is virus XP

I've used Avast for years, and I've also watched YouTube videos for years, never have the two conflicted. I guess it's some strange bug you've stumbled upon. Try adding to the exception list, if that's possible.

I think the problem is the Advanced SystemCare product you have. Try removing it and see if that's better.

2 antivirus running at the same time hating each other.

oh I remember the times when I have kaspersky and eset installed in my PC. CPU usage is always 100%. They are pretty much scanning themselves in an infinite loop

I got viruses both with avast, windows defender and Eset nod32, checked all viruses I've encountered with virustotal, and Kaspersky and Norton were the only AV which caught them all.

And yes, I'd rather give some of my resources then taking a risk of losing them all (happened to me with Avast, the virus infected all files and I recovery/fixing did not help them fully recover), so yeah, Kaspersky.

And define "bloatware" please, I have never seen a forced ad or other ad-ware apps which came with Kaspersky. You can shut down any unneeded features from the installation package, or learn to install the proper installation for your needs, if you only need an AV, you don't need to install Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Pure etc.

And Norton was crap back then, Idk current situation though.

You sure it was the real youtube? Double check the address. I have seen many phishing sites that emulate the website they are copying almost perfectly, even to web address looks authentic on first look. If it is, time for a change in anti virus maybe? or you could email support and ask. I recommend the more expensive anti virus software. You can of course always get them for free if you want cough. Anyway I use Kespersky Internet Security + Malwarebytes anti Malware. I'm pretty confident they can manage to keep most baddies away. The rest is common sense.

ofc it is the real youtube lol?I've heard a lot of that Kaspersky antivirus is it really a fine working one?

Yep. Get the Internet Security or Pure for full protection. Pure has other stuff like defragmenter and register cleaner and stuff.

I tried a lot of commercial antivirus software and always returned to Kaspersky. It has never let me down :)
