Galaga, Gradius, Zanac & Maze of Galious for the MSX. Also, Street Fighter 2.
The latter game is also the main inspiration for La-Mulana, and has an excellent free fan remake.

Well the first that come into my mind would be: Rayman 3, Halo 2, Battle Arena Toshinden (Think that's spelled right) and Timesplitters 2. All of which are great classics in my opinion. You could also add Super Mario for the DS to my list, I loved it but don't remember much from it.

Halo: Combat Evolved as well. Ah... good memories of friends over and having 3 on 1 matches with the solo guy winning 25 to 0...

Quake 1, Warcraft 2, Syndicate (first one, with American Revolt), the King's Quest series was awesome too. All Ultimate (didn't play Online much though) were great! oh yeah and Commander Keen (thank you morbid for reminding me!). Why not add Wolf3d, Doom, XCom, Fallout and Nethack! geez I'm old :/ oh and The Incredible Machine he he he.

Dark Souls is the only game these days that came close to my heart . As for childhood games , I really love and still play sometimes Serious Sam TSE and Quake 1-3 . I remember watching my uncle play Dune and it was really awesome but I myself couldn't get into it .

The Witcher (1st)
Prince of Persia (the veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery 1st)
Bugdom ( And the rest of Pangea's games )
And many other games I have forgotten, awesome games, ja.
