Their website is on maintenance and uPlay won't load for me. I'm pretty sure I used a different password on those two than anywhere else, just for this reason, plus I have virtually no games on uPlay, so meh. Thanks for the heads up though!

I don't even remember my password to login and change it. Think I could shoot the hackers an email and see if they'll give it to me?

Good idea, they'll probably get back to you quicker than Ubisoft support too!

Look in your email account. You should have an email with a link to change your password immediately.

Got an email from them with a link to setting a new password that seems to work while the site is still down. Not 100% certain I'd trust email links through but the address and certificate seem legit.
Will change when site's back up anyway,
uplay site working again... sort of

How can it be a scam if they're not asking for your old password on reset :o

I'm in the same boat, so I deleted it and now I don't even remember which email I used...

I wouldn't call that a fail. You can't prevent a hack. You can only reduce the usefulness of the stolen data by collecting the least possible amount and also encrypting it, which Ubisoft obviously did (at least they're saying that)

Yeah, but in the modern world of internet "wahh" bitching, anything negative that happens to a company, no matter how much they did to prevent it or even if it's actually their fault or not, is a fail by that company, somehow.

Is it a marketing stunt to promote Watch Dogs?

Yes because they want to create a climate where their customers do not trust them or their security. Bold move!

Trust me, no PR person/department of a big brand wants this kind of attention.

That's what I'm trying to do. Tried both links for changing pass now and neither have changed my uplay pass so far. Giving it a few minutes before try again.

[EDIT] took 4 attempts, now successfully changed and working. Thanks for the link Alshadur

Weird. The one provided by Alshadur works fine for me. I changed the pass and it works fine in UPlay now.

Managed to get in and change my PW, and subsequently loaded Uplay (which wouldn't load until I gave it the new PW, so yeah, the threat was legit). However, I'm missing a bunch of games now. Looks like the missing items are ones I manually activated over the last month or two. Frustratingly, though, I can't remember which ones they were offhand to try and put them back in. Sigh (And I generally don't retain keys for games that have been activated.)

Since the only time I've ever accessed uPlay is through Steam, am I actually at any threat? All the games should be tied to my account, no? I don't even remember putting in a password for it.
