Yeah, I'm not too much of an emotive guy but the game really hit me in the right place. To the Moon really shows that a great story can be told on a RPG maker with a few well made art assests, great music and even better script writing.
Can't wait to see the sequel(s).

I really wish I could get it.For some unknown reason I'm unable to purchase it from the Steam store.

Basically, the only gameplay is walking around in between scenes and clicking on easily identified objects. Then solving a quick puzzle that generally takes 3-5 moves.
There are a couple unique scenes, but nothing more complicated than moving in the right direction towards or away from something.

I have been thinking about getting this game, but it just doesn't seem like my kind of game. People are always praising it through the roof, so maybe I'll give it a shot one day. It's just stunning how I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about it, so I'm really curious to see if it lives up to the hype. I might enjoy it even though I don't enjoy those type of games in general :)

By "those types" I mean point and click -games, I've gotten the impression To the Moon is that type of game. Nevertheless, I know it has very little gameplay, and I value gameplay very much. Maybe I should try this game just for the story, and forget the gameplay aspect for once :)

Honestly, don't think of it as a game, it's really more of a long movie or a short book. The game mechanics definitely take a back seat to the story. That being said, definitely check it out. Easily worth the few dollars you can pick it up for during the Winter Sale.

That's exactly the point, I think I've been hesitating to try this game because it is barely a game in the usual meaning. I really enjoy games with exhilarating gameplay, and I've been worried To the Moon would not be entertaining to me. I prefer my games as real games, with gameplay taking much priority. Maybe I should follow your advice and try it sometime, I should just forget it's supposed to be a game, and see it more as a new experience :)

The part in "UP" where I remember crying the most, was when i was trying to buy some grub (Popcorn etc), before the movie. When did things get so expensive? *sniff

I didn't cry because my thoughts was racing with ideas during that time - that one shocking scene. My early guess that he was raped by his own grandfather. But then something else unexpected happened. I was glad and sad at the same time.

24 hours later, I can't stop thinking about it. I bought the soundtrack immediately after I finished and have listened to it several times over.
If stories move you at all, get this game. If you cried at "that scene" in Pixar's "Up", get this game. If it's in your library waiting to be played, set aside ~4 hours and do it.
That's all. Just wanted to share.
