^That. You had to pay $25 or more to unlock it, so it's only 37% of the retail price (apparently).

Which is still a pretty rotten deal considering it's been much lower recently. So there's no reason to add it to the bundle list.

Not when there is a circa $5 threshold to get every other game in the bundle they're not.

That's the wrong answer.
The Ferrari (emblazoned with Dead Island: Riptide decals) cost $499,000, unless I've made some sort of fundamental mistake in my maths.
Besides, I haven't told you what country's dollars we're using.
In Zimbabwean $$$, this would equate to a fraction of the price of a Big Mac...
Comment has been collapsed.
That's ok. If you're prepared to accept $60,000 Zimbabwean dollars for your car, I'd be happy to deal.

Huh?
Unless the New Zealand dollar has suffered an unprecedented slump, I'm not convinced that this is the same deal that was on the table earlier...
Besides, the example wasn't a used car solicitation. It simply proves that your mathematical workings had as much credibility as a Miley Cyrus death metal album.
Please feel free to ignore the point and debate at excruciating length Miley Cyrus' aptitude for guttural growling and dark, brooding lyrics.

^This.
OP is clearly being deliberately pedantic/obtuse rather than looking at the big picture, and the reasons behind the asteriskification of games.
I'm awarding this thread a low D-
Must try harder...
Comment has been collapsed.
Fully agree. The OP is pushing stupidly for this, when it's a $25 cost, doesn't really matter if it's "in" a bundle if it costs that much no matter what the average is. It's more than anything: A bonus to those who donate high amounts. Paying $20 over the bundle BTA, is totally not something that should be bundled here on SG imo.
Comment has been collapsed.
It's very dumb. Someone paying 25 bucks for a title? Sounds like a significant amount of cash. Someone isn't going to want to hoard hundreds of copies to increase CV.
Comment has been collapsed.
I don't see any Get Loaded games bundled, do you?
Comment has been collapsed.
It doesn't really matter what Get Loaded has them for.
The purpose of the bundle system is prevent users to from getting full contributor value of sll games when you spend $1 - $6.
$25 is way too high for it to be considered a bundle game. There's a reason why amazon bundles, GMG, other bundles are not on the list, and that's due to the price.
With this price you're basically getting Dead Island Riptide for $20 (which is the cost of the game on the summer sale) and the (other) bundle games, so if you look at it you're paying what you would of paid for the game on the summer sale, and paid fot the first tier BTA bundle. I think that's a good enough reason for it not being a bundled game.

"That good point but it really shouldn't be any diff keep in you choose any amount of money to pay there min contributor do 500$+ in shot for one bundles"
Huh?
If you're saying what I think you're saying, the bundle rules aren't solely about legalistically enforcing some arbitrary rule. They're about preventing abuse of the CV system by obtaining dirt cheap games and building up huge amounts of CV while spending peanuts.
While some spend over the minimum that is there choice, and there is no way of knowing what was actually spent. If someone spent $500 on a humble bundle, good for them, but allowing them $500 CV for said games simply opens the floodgates wide for systematic abuse.
If you exercise your grey matter, you can see exactly why the rules are as they are, and exactly what sort of skullduggery and abuse they are designed to prevent.
I can only think that this thread is one long trollercoaster ride, as surely nobody with the intellect to successfully locate and make use of a computer can actually be this obtuse?
Comment has been collapsed.
Bundles are bundles, and in the case of those which allow buyers to pay what they want (above a minimum price) who can tell how much somebody spent to acquire them? I'm sure support would be eager to hear any suggestions which would involve them poring over pdf receipts and poorly photoshopped invoices, adjusting everyone's CV manually to reflect what was actually paid, and suspending users whose MS Paint skills didn't pass muster. Why not submit a support ticket outlining your plans? I'm sure they could do with a laugh...
Anyway, if you want to give lots of money to charity, great. Giving is its own reward. Just don't expect to be handed heaps of CV in return.
I clearly covered the whole bundle "overpayment" scenario in the above post anyway. What part of the bundle system, and [more importantly] the reasons behind it, is so hard to understand?
Comment has been collapsed.
Are products appearing in the Get Loaded deals listed as bundle games?
Comment has been collapsed.
Probably because of the required amount to get that tier. Unlike the other tiers, you can't really buy a bunch of those to easily boost the CV, so I guess Shobo decided it wasn't required.
Comment has been collapsed.
Huh... What's the point? What's the big deal anyways?

I have a problem with the guy who made this stupid topic though, amirite?

But my CV was reduced, no fair booo y other people no getting cv cut. Omg steamgift opression!
Comment has been collapsed.
There isn't really a hard rule for the 'bundle' list in the first place, so they can't really break it. Some bundles don't count for the list, while some non-bundle stuff does. It's best just to try and ignore the list and the CV system as much as possible.
Comment has been collapsed.
As I understand it, that's only for games not actually in a bundle, such as Just Cause (Steam price glitch).
It's very much at Support's discretion, and they seem to apply a common-sense approach rather than a rigid set of arbitrary rules.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yea I think I remember that it was for non bundled games but it could work both ways. In this case for Dead Island Riptide seeing how its bundled but is roughly 50% off ( I think it was 25$ but lets just subtract 5$ for the other BTA bundled games).
Comment has been collapsed.
While it could work that way, without appearing an obsequious lickspittle, I think Support do a pretty good job of adjudicating on these sort of matters.
The only person with an issue here seems to be the OP, who is clearly a significant number of transistors short of a microprocessor.

Sorry, irrelevant to OP (I could write it anywhere) but...
having read a number of your posts I can't help but marvel at your skill of words use. And then suddenly I remembered two 'Angry words' puzzles unleashed some time ago. Do you think you can make another one? :)

lol
I don't have anything that flash to give away right now, but it's been a while, so I'll try and find something worth winning and get an Angry Words III puzzle out in the next few days :)

" [ . . . ] they seem to apply a common-sense approach rather than a rigid set of arbitrary rules."
You just very succinctly summed up one of the most basic principles behind how we do things, actually. If people just took two seconds to consider that, we wouldn't even see threads like this most of the time.
Comment has been collapsed.
I disagree. It's still rather arbitrary. But it's also not a "rigid set of arbitrary rules".
Comment has been collapsed.
You seem to have understood what AtomicWoodchuck meant when he said "it".
You were adding onto his point, so I felt my reply was appropriate.

I'm talking about the way we operate generally, not any specific part of it. Things come to mind like when people try to argue their way out of a suspension with some sort of technicality-based rules-lawyering or the like, only to hit a brick wall when they find out we enforce the rules according to their spirit and not their letter, and just because we don't have perfect-enough foresight to account for an emergent situation, that doesn't mean we'll let people get away with something because we're bound by rules that were made without the benefit of the aforementioned foresight.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, I'm saying that support (+ shobo) can be rather arbitrary and not necessarily in the realm of "common sense" in my opinion. I'm not saying that you guys aren't doing the best that you can do or trying to insult you or anything. I'm just stating my opinion that what some people consider "common sense" is not necessarily that "common" and may be seen as more arbitrary by some.
Comment has been collapsed.
Usually there's a good reason behind the things we do. We are human and we make mistakes and such from time to time, and we try to correct those, but I think maybe some of what you're referring to is due to our reasons not always being made clear to other users in general. I try to clear up misunderstandings and misconceptions where I can, but I'm probably not even aware of all of them. Anyway, my post here was more about the flexibility we have in our moderation to help us adapt to changing circumstances and how it helps us avoid getting into a bind with the rules. And I didn't take any offense at anything you said whatsoever, no worries.

Why do people keep presuming that JC was a price bug? Steam had 8 freaking hours to fix it and they didn't do crap.
Also was it stated anywhere in the internets that steam announced a notification that price was actually "bugged"?
I've seen this sale pretty much as a way of earning some income through a crappy old game, bundles are often these days, having prices like this show up should be possible given that bundle games are somehow similiar.

Why do people keep presuming that JC was a price bug? Steam had 8 freaking hours to fix it and they didn't do crap.
Because the standard discount was applied twice. It was eventually fixed, which brought it into line with the other [standard] discount on the franchise, but not before Steam users had filled their boots with cheap copies of the game :)

I would be surprised if you find just one person to agree with this logic. You can wait and see, but it might be like fishing with a line that is too short to reach the water.

• An asterisk next to a game title on the Create a Giveaway list indicates that the game is included in the bundle list, Well in case that also apply to Dead Island Riptide from the Humble Deep Silver Bundle but there no asterisk next to this game title.
So what you think of this
