SemiJames's suggestion sounds like a good one to help you weed out the ones who actually do want it. As for my favorite RPG maker games, you just said the two I enjoyed the most up there. To the Moon, and Exit Fate. Last Scenario looks very interesting, I will have to try it soon.
Awesome giveaway.
Good Luck to the people who will be in for that giveaway. ^.^

I'd actually try this out and maybe make a RPG that can be good.

I could totally win that. I've got a fifty page script, some art for dialogue portraits, and a couple of songs in my pocket. Seriously, I've been intending to make a game with something like Gamesalad, or by learning to code for a year or two now.

I was using RPG Maker at one point, years ago, around 2003. I can't remember which version it was, but I eventually went to RPG Maker XP. I was creating a game called "The Untold Adventures of Link" (Yes, it was my own Legend of Zelda themed game =P). My friend saw what I was doing one day and decided that he would come along and help me out with it. Not with the game creation itself though, more with helping me write the story and what happens throughout it. At this point, I pretty much stopped working on the game itself (which was just a small prototype at the time anyway) since it seemed like we needed to come up with everything else first.
At first I thought working on it together was a pretty good idea, and it started off well and it was going fine for a little while, but with the type of person that I was/am (shy, quiet, keeps to himself), and with losing the prototype early on due to my PC crashing, over time I just got pretty tired and annoyed with it all, but mostly because it was becoming more my friends thing than my own. I eventually gave up on it completely, even after all of the stuff that we came up with. We've got a lot of pages on it, even some rough drafts of the map layout.
It's been probably a good 5 or 6 years since we last sat down to work on the game. Since then, I've had these urges every so often to want to get it going again, on my own or not, but I've gotten into this state over the last few years where it's hard for me to do things, or stay on something for long, like most of my motivation for things is gone, which sucks a whole lot. =/
I'd definitely like to work on my game again, or start on a new one, but on top of the lack of motivation, I also don't know any scripting, nor can I create my own sprites/backgrounds to use, (but I can do my own music =P) so I'm pretty limited on what I can do with RPG Maker, sadly. I certainly would not be able to make the next To The Moon, that's for sure, haha.
I would love to see a giveaway of RPG Maker VX Ace, but, I don't know if you would consider me to be worthy of it. =P I think I might have to give the Lite version a go, as long as it's not too limited..

I have a good idea for a samurai ninja style RPG game but I am still writing the characters, world and what enemies and monsters would be in the game. But it has been slow because of school and work.

I really enjoyed Mad Father (free), have yet to play To The Moon

I think I would do a remake of FUED on the spectrum. probably using the same tileset. (I think Id have to add a bit more content though, but would be fun to make

RPG Maker is a very powerful tool, mainly when you're patient. A great way to enjoy it would be by those RPG Maker forums.
I surely would join a RPG Maker giveaway, and i even used to be a admin on some brazillian rpg maker forum, so i may even be able to help a bit, or give some hints and advices, if the VX-Ace is still like it was back by the RPG Maker XP, if anyone want to ask me about it. And please call me if you really make that giveaway.
Unfortunately many people who get interested in RPG Maker expect it to be very easy, and quickly give up or do terrible games.

I've played a lot of RPG Maker games and my top favorite is "Star-Stealing Prince". It's non-commercial, but it's still to this date the only game that was so incredibly amazing that I -had- to donate to the maker. It also won most of the award categories in the 2012 Misaos, so try it if you haven't. Another great one is "Zephyrus and the Kingdom of Heaven". Before those my favorite was "A Blurred Line".
I own VX Ace myself, but as much as I've wanted to create my own game, I just can't seem to wrap my head around scripting properly. :P

I personally have experience with RPG Maker VX, RPG Maker XP, RPG Maker 2003 and RPG Maker 2000. I do have to admit I did not purchase those, and I currently don't use any of those for that reason. I've finished some roguelikes on the latter two. I still have one of those on a USB stick. It would be nice to be able to use it again, legally. I would aim for a roguelike-JRPG hybrid, being the most feasible thing to finish. Has VX Ace kept automap generation?
On the other hand, I could wait for EasyRPG, which would be crossplatform.

I remember using RPG maker 2000 (yeah, that long). I made a bunch of prototypes but nothing finished.
The one i did the most was some kind of action rpg (which was really hard since i have zero programing skills) where you played as different heroes thru the ages.
I never liked much the turn based battle system, not sure how hard it would be to make a different battle system on the newer version.
Still, i really want to get into the game industry, i would prefer to work with a programmer to help me (im more into game desing and game art) but in the meantime i would love to toy around with what i can do in RPG Maker (and im sure iยดll end up reading a bazillion tutorials to make something work).
I have about... 4 different settings (characters, story and world) from characters i made in the past (I was planning to do one of them into a comic, another is already done in a card game which i have to playtest a bit more and the other is an actual game project)
If its possible to do a Tactical turn based system (like FF Tactics or X-com), i already have something planned, im already working on the design for a game like that (have some system already, have to make quick boardgame of it to playtest and see if it actually work), just in case i manage to partner with someone who knows how to actually do that stuff.
Anyway, i would love to join a giveaway for that, and would be much appreciated.
Please let me know if you do so :)

I'd love to enter that giveaway. I'm currently just finishing up writing a book, and I thought it would be neat to have an RPG maker game released alongside it. I could sell both in a digital bundle online or something. I'd probably need to get some help, at least with the art, though >.>

I've been doing one myself for quite sometime now.
Haven't really done much mapping, but have been working hard on building the database and creating crafting recipes. Want to make sure I have all items and weapons and their recipes done before starting distributing them

I want to make a game, I do. I would like to say that I would make a great game with this software but truth is that work, family, friends, and hobbies take all my time, and this marvelous thing would be wasted on me. Whoever will be the one to gain RPG Maker VX Ace, I want you to know that when you start making a game, what ever your idea may be, I'll be there with you in spirit. Game on baby, game on ;)

I was browsing through the most wanted list and I saw RPG Maker VX Ace. I'm planning on doing a give away for it later this week or next week, but one thing is bothering me. It being an RPG Maker game I'd really like someone to win who is serious about making a game with it. I wouldn't like the gift to go to someone who isn't, and really just wants to tool around and check out what it can do. It being a whopping 70 points I'd think people wouldn't take it lightly. It'd be awesome if the next To The Moon, Last Scenario, or Exit Fate could come from a steam gifts user. Anyways as a side note what are your favorite RPG Maker Games? Obviously my favorites are listed. You can now find To The Moon on steam. As for Exit Fate and Last Scenario both can be found Here and Here respectively. Both of which are free so double :)
Update: Well I'ms a little late rofl. But it paid off! Well for me, for once. Anyways I have a group set up now for the eventual giveaway. No Joke, the game is in my inventory and the give away will be created shortly and open for 2-3 weeks. I only want those really interested in making their own games. Write up a basic story/idea outline or what you'd like to do with RPG Maker and I'll send you an invite so that you may see and participate in the give away. If you just want to check out what RPG Maker can do try the lite version for free available Here
