Do not submit guest passes, beta keys (Dota 2 and CS:GO giftable copies whitelisted), or in-game items from games such as TF2.

It was obvious that it has been removed. But I don't really get the reason. Dota 2 is a game, equal to any other. Why can't I get some "Contributor points" to participate in contributor-only giveaways just because Valve presented me that copy? I do not sell it, as others do, I just want to present it to someone else (and get a little points ;)).
That feels strange to me.

Many people got several copies, spammed and crashed the site to get free contributor points for a free game and moat people that entered these giveaways didn't want to win the the game, they just wanted to win.

Dota 2 is free so why should you get contributor points for it?

Yeah, but there are so many sites that give keys away and owners also get more and more extra copies. Anyone who really want Dota 2 already has it.

I agree, but the thing is that owners get copies, not people, who don't have it. There are people who want Dota, I got like 20 copies, because I'm a regular player and I managed to give them all away.(Beside the fact, that I got new copies yesterday x_x)

True. But if Steam wants me to buy it, why shouldn't I have a chance to win it here? I thought that is the main idea of steamgifts - support giveaways of all steam games.

You can give it in the forum away but you said that you want contributor points, so you don't only want to give games to people.

If you mean this: even untradeable copys can be redeemed. But people who alraedy won Dota up to 5 times still entered the giveaways.

If you win and don't snyc you can still enter all giveaways untill sg forces you to sync again. Or you just don't activate Dota. (but of course wbarton and the others will suspend you for this ^^)

DotA 2, like all other F2P games, does not appear in your list until you have played it. The only people still entering for it when it was removed were people who had already won it. That's why it isn't around.

It was more that there were so many giveaways that some people won accidentally the game several times and took both, other people entered for more Dota even after they won it and neither the giveawayer nor the winner cared about that. Both is forbidden. I also bet that reroll requests from these giveaways flooded the support.

There are still a ton of re-roll request tickets just sitting there. We don't touch them because cg will have to go do them himself. He can re-roll continuously without needing a new request until it finally lands on someone who hasn't won it already, if there even are any. If not, they're deleted.

Still, this is a problem of all games, not only dota.
I guess someone just decided to, there is a good russian word, - "похерить" this problem rather than to solve it.
