[PSA] Steamgifts Plus Alternative [NO LONGER COMPATIBLE]

ATTENTION!

As you might noticed SG+ is broken due to that Kait's code.google is throwing 403 for some reason,
which makes it impossible to fetch the newest version of the SteamGifts Plus plugin.

I have rehosted it so people can continue to use it.

leomoty and I (dotazured ) have decided to continue the development of this user script after that Kait's code.google went down.
We will continue to improve and add features to the plugin. All of the settings and filters will continue to work as normal.

Note: This version may or may not work with Firefox atm, but works for Chrome, Opera 12 & 17.

Update 2

0.9.87 BETA ALTERNATIVE

+ Added Halloween2013 Badge for the Halloween forum event.
* Changed hosting, you will need to download the new file from the link above.
* @include to @match for the Chrome users in the installer, it will now only have permissions to run on SteamGifts.
* Now dubbed as and using @name SteamGifts Plus Alternative.

Update 1

* Fixed the settings menu, just do a CTRL+F5 and you are good to go.
* Uses @name SteamGifts Plus DotHost instead of @name SteamGifts Plus

Your filters and settings will continue to work with this version if you had the previous version from Kait!

That will be changed in the update, it has always been that way with Kait's releases.

EDIT : Fixed in the new version, please download the new one.

You may wish to make mention in the OP that NoScript users may need to add sgplus-alternative.google.com to the whitelist for this to work correctly.

This new version keeps popping up the "there's new version available, read the patchlog?" on every new tab I open. And not even on steamgifts.com. something's not right. Can't you section it off to only work on steamgifts?

Why are you using @match instead of @include? Include worked absolutely fine.

Because @include would make Chrome think it say that it could access all sites, @match don't do that and is just to calm people.
If you please could tell me what browser you are using I could try to replicate the fault.

I have tried with latest version of Firefox, Chrome and Opera and they work flawless.

You may try this: backup the local stored files to a safe location, and then clear the cache.

I had the same issue on Chrome but after clicking it away a few times I could finally check something and now it doesn't appear anymore. Didn't really pay attention to what I did, I just clicked without thinking :p

Chrome user here, popped up once and it's gone.
And yeah "access all sites" is gone with the new version downloaded from code.google.

It's a plugin that is only for the part with commenting etc, SteamGifts Plus is a plugin that does it all.

That is due to Opera seem to have removed the support for user scripts.

Wait, what? No it didn't. I still use Opera 12 on Presto engine and it still loads .js files from /userjava/ just fine.

You could always exclude cookies and localy stored files when running CCleaner. It will behave identical to the old version.

Or better yet, you could use the CCleaner option to whitelist cookies for steamgifts/google code/wherever they're stored.

Are you storing anything in the webappstore.sqlite or sqlclassifier3.sqlite areas? I use Ccleaner with the CCenhancer app which adds more areas to be cleaned. I had to turn these off in order to preserve my SG+ settings. If DeathMaster is cleaning those, he might be killing his SG+ filters and settings.

Amen to you, that solved my problem. CCenhancer was the culprit here, I never quite figured out which one of the 25 checkboxes it was before.

Can you please make it compatible with chrome sync in some way ? I'm using it with tampermonkey with its tesla or whatever feature and it doesn't sync, it's annoying to re-filter games when logging in from somewhere else :/

It wasn't supposed to be your info, the project (SG+ from Kait on Google Code) is not available for public comsuption anymore. So we rehosted the project and will continue to update it.
