Skyrim PuzzleQuiz! [Now Over - Answers Within *Possible tiny spoiler* ]

My second puzzle. Learned a lot of lessons from my first one. Like puns really piss people off, so use more of them. Anyway, if you know Skyrim you should get this easily. If you don't know Skyrim, you probably want to look these answers up because there may be a Skyrim related prize at the end of it. :)

Anyway TO THE ANSWERS!

  1. Clue: My brethren from a large Kentish port!

Answer: Dovahkiin (Dover is a large Kentish port, my brethren is my kin.)

  1. Possible SpoilersClue: [Big Bad], Simon, Theodore...Doo, doo, doodoobedoo!

Answer: Alduin (He is the big bad of Skyrim's base game and his name sounds a bit like Alvin or Alvin and the Chipmunks.)End Spoilers

  1. Clue: Sir Ranulph Twistleton-Wykeham-Fiennes' least favourite arachnid

Answer: Frostbite spiders (erroneous pluralisation, so my apologies. But, Sir Ranulph Fiennes is a famous British explorer who has lost most of his appendages to frostbite and recently had to quit an expedition as a result of it.)

  1. Clue: If some cat throws a ball at you, you must...

Answer: Khajiit! (It's a cat, and it sounds like 'catch it' in a funny accent)

  1. Clue: Use a dupe glitch, get 200 squared of this type of weapon and have yourself an inter-game-universe reference!

Answer: Warhammer (200 squared is 40,000 - as in Warhammer 40,000)

  1. Clue: I often have problems when it comes to doing the laundry. When I put in coloured clothing, the dye always bleeds out but I've never seen a...

Answer: Whiterun (when dye leaks from clothes in the washing machine it is colloquially known as it 'running' but whites don't do this for obvious reasons. Instead they absorb the dye from other clothes and you end up with faintly blue socks or faintly pink shirts.)

  1. Clue: Why do runes even need to shave!?

Answer: Mehrunes' Razor (because even Dagon needs to keep his beard in check)

  1. Clue: I'm too cool for summer school

Answer: The College of Winterhold (If you're too cool for summer school, go to the colder opposite!)

  1. Clue: Movie starring Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels as hapless elves. Dunm and...

Answer: Dunmer (Obviously...)

  1. Clue: Say it like you mean it. With unrelenting force!

Answer: FUS RO DAH

Anyone having trouble with answers, I don't make them too obvious but they're not obscure this time either (not like my last puzzle!) a bit of a Google and a punny frame of mind and you're most of the way there. Otherwise, the giveaways end Sunday and then I'll release the answers.

Yeah... If the giveaway is for Skyrim, then why would a person know tidbits of information from Skyrim if they don't have it? And if they do have it, then they wouldn't really need to solve it. As you mentioned, I did try to look it up, and have played a fair bit of Skyrim with my friend on the Xbox, but still do not know any of these (The ones that I beleive are from Skyrim atleast). xD

They are all from Skyrim, though some may appear in other Elder Scrolls games. The clues can be a little cryptic, some of them are pun-based clues, at least a couple are just silly wordplays.

As for why you'd want to enter if you already have Skyrim...For teh lulz? Plus there may be prizes for those people.

He only hinted that it might be skyrim related. It could be skyrim DLC, which makes skyrim questions perfect.

Anyway tried a bit, found it fairly difficult except the last one ;p. Will try again tomorrow.

Half-way done (3,5,7,9,10). Had some ideas about #1 and #8, but they didn't pay off, so I'll come back to it later.

Try to get in a laundry frame of mind. If you're not doing a coloured wash you're doing a _____ wash. That blank is the first part, the rest is easy to guess from there.

The clue is topical, so if you know of Sir Ranulph's recent problems and are putting in an answer using that information maybe it just needs pluralisation.

For 1 - The main key is in the Kentish port. Google can help you.

for 5 - The main trick is in the number. Do the maths and you should recognise the game reference that leads to the answer.

Oh nice-one... I was thinking about such things earlier (didn't get the right answer) then I switched to looking for runes with hair... Not the right track...
Feel free to delete any of this, if you feel it's too much giveaway clue.
And by the way: I really enjoyed your puzzle. The clues in the question were subtle and sometimes I felt my answer was so right on so many levels (all the clues matched the answer) and yet I was so far from the correct one. It was great! Thanks!

It's a really, really simple wordplay. Think of those characters/that theme tune and think of a Skyrim character (a big bad one at that...) with a name similar to what usually goes there.

I'm assuming it's an NPC, but I have no idea which one is "big" and/or "bad." I did try a whole slew of names that sounded like they should fit, but none of them were correct. Q2 is the only one I'm still missing. (Q5 is only wrong because I'm not using the proper syntax.)

Apologies if this is double posted but I replied, and SG says I replied, but I don't see my reply and I'm confused.

Clues 1 and 6 have been asked about previously in the thread. Check through the comments and you should be able to work them out.

As for 4, think about what you do when someone throws a ball at you, and say it funny in your head using a repertoire of casually racist accents until such time as it sounds like something from Elder Scrolls lore.

Also, thanks for enjoying the puzzle. :)
