what game is it? Also, I answered first question without google with first try. Yaay for me :D

I think that if everyone knew all these people, there would be no point in creating these questions and answering them.
But you may know (or insight about) some of them, why not? Also, Google can help you. And you can wait for the tips. Well, even if you will not answer all the questions - this would not be the end of the world?
In any case, in the end, I'll let you know all the right answers, so if you do not know any of these people, this puzzle will help you learn something new. =)

So this is just a trick to make me learn, isn't it? Screw you, now I have to prove that I can solve it and in the process I will learn who these people are...

Well, I googled each question and tried each name there and nothing was right... The first question I thought was Cave Johnson...

Are these video game characters? In the inventor thing you said to "players" which means gamers, right?
Comment has been collapsed.
No, they are real persons. Probably you can meet 2 or even 3 of them in the videogames, but just because they are historical figures. But I never heard about games where they would be main characters.
As concerns Q1 - yes, "players" means gamers.

Maybe it's just me, but some of these questions sound like they could be on Jeopardy. : /
Either way, I got no answer for any of these thus far. :(

Hi! Uhm i know i will never able to know every question but thanks for the first one. People have to mention about that great person much more. Thanks again.

I may try again later. I've got some wrong answers stuck in my head tonight:)

Making progress. I still have the wrong answer for #2 stuck in my head, and I don't have a clue about #3. I'll try again in a bit.

As it stands now, I might. Got 2, but not having any luck finding the other 3 (could've sworn I had #2, but seems not). Will probably try again tomorrow

Just got #4... #2 and #5 remain. At least I'm over half done now >_>

My problem with the two I have left, is that I am finding so many different people that the questions could apply to (especially #5).

Hmmm, it’s half-time already and we have only 1 entry. It seems that my puzzle is more difficult than I expected. T_T
Well, let’s clue in a bit.
All questions are designed to satisfy two conditions: a) they are difficult to google them directly, and b) they can be solved without knowing these historical figures, starting from the key words of the question.
Let me show you an example of a question of such type — with the solution.
QUESTION: This poet in one of his well known works describes how dangerous is spying on a witch. Later that witch became the fastest in the seas.
SOLUTION: Well, let's try to solve it. Wait with the Google. First you need to decide what we are looking for? What’s a keyword there? Poet or a witch?..
Neither of the two. There are too many poets and witches in the world. Of course, you can search for poets who written about witches, but it would be non-productive.
What’s about the sea? Is it a sea witch? Hmm ... something found, but it seems not good enough. Fastest witch? In the seas? Is it a ship with witch’s name? Note, it must be fast ship. Well, google it now: fast ship witch.
In general, the answer is already on the first page of Google search. If I was looking for a fast ship witch poem, it would be among the first results. This ship is the Cutty Sark, the witch named Nan, and this poem (Tam o' Shanter) written by Robert Burns.
It was easy, innit? We even don’t need a HINT (this witch almost burned several years ago). ^_^

At least I got a new batch of wrong answers to try:) I'll give it another go tomorrow when my mind is cleared of the searches I tried today.

Congrats to whoever wins this one because I just can't figure it out. Once it is all over, I'd love to see where I went wrong. Very nice puzzle indeed, and I enjoyed solving what I could:)

There remain only 24 hours but nobody can't catch up Sleepy. o.O
Well, probably it's time to release some additional hints. I've considered that Q1 and Q3 are easy enough, so prepared clues only for another three questions.
Q2: This diamond is famous too.
Q4: It's really his dynasty.
Q5: Burial of a whole ship for the sake of one person, probably, would be too labor-consuming task.

Also general hints from the itstoohard are here for those who will join in the remaining hours (such that they will not be able to see them at the proper time).
Q1. According to one of hypotheses, as a result of his unsuccessful experiment the woods on the area more than 700 square miles were destroyed on the other side of the world.
Q2. The title of his most famous works has it that an intellect doesn't bring happiness.
Q3. Also, he is known as a specialist in teaching of reading knowledge to donkeys.
Q4. This man was taciturn.
Q5. He captured his coffin in advance, and then travelled the seas with it for a long time.

I solved everything but the question 2. I wasted all day on it, and I still don't know the answer. Is there any way you give us one more hint about it? Pretty please? :D

A day before yesterday I won two good games, and yesterday — another one (5 good games during the week ^_^). Thus I feel a necessity to recharge my luck and for this reason I prepared some puzzles for you. It's my first puzzle here and English isn't my native language, so be lenient with it. I hope it will be good enough. =)
Let's go!
