One of the the classic NES games of my childhood is being remade by Capcom (developed by WayForward)!
Now crossing fingers for a PC release.

Trailer

Update 1:

The character sprites are hand-drawn, while the world will exist in 3D. Disney's authentic voice actors will lend their talents to the game. The game's original 8-bit songs will be remastered for the game by WayForward's Jake Kaufman, and new elements include a tutorial; Scrooge's Money Bin, which you can jump into; and a museum.

"We're literally pouring our heart and soul into this title," said Capcom's Rey Jimenez. "It's going to play just like you remember."

Update 2: It's coming to Steam!

Update 3: Pre-purchase available!

For a moment I thought of the tv show as well..then common (and somewhat disappointed) sense sunk in that they were talking about the game.

Same. Although I'll want to try the game now that I know of such a thing.

I am disappointed at the moment, its look shit. After "Duck Tales Remastered announced!" i expected quality of Rayman Origins http://media.edge-online.com/wp-content/uploads/edgeonline/oldfiles/Rayman_OriginsPyramidTeam.jpg

not this boorish 3D graphic from trailer, its totally blank.

Well, i'm waiting for premiere like the others except for one: not all of you but i'm the greatest NES Duck Tales 1 & 2 fan of the world! ;-)

Maybe Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers 2 remake then? Batman (1989), Battletoads & Double Dragons? Do want.

And here I was hoping it would be a remake of this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DuckTales_-_the_Quest_for_Gold (looks like Steamgifts forum screws up the url, nothing I can do about it. But you should be able to find it)

I don't think I ever even played the other one.

Actually I played The Quest for Gold way before the NES version and enjoyed it a lot. But the platformer one was a much more popular game and loved by many. Plus it had something The Quest for Gold didn't have - an awesome soundtrack. :)

For once, this is a remake that I am genuinely completely interested in. This was one of those great childhood moments.

Capcom? So like, are they gunna turn it into something like street fighter and hidden story characters that require paid DLC?
Will there be a Duck Tales Ultimate deluxe super mega edition for 110 dollars that includes "All" of the dlc?

You will have to play to listen to the moon theme.

Sadly, no mention of PC release... for now. Source: As you can see if you clicked - Capcom itself.
