To disable it either turn off the add-on or if u use ad blocker, click block elements, then click on the banner, click accept and you're ready to go

Edit: IT's gone now.

No that's not good, sg needs money to keep it online

They don't get money unless you click the ads, so unless you (and other people) click them, it's a moot point.

Reopened, since you closed this topic. We only run 300x250 and 720x90 advertisements, and we have no advertising above the new from the forum section, so that ad is neither the correct size, or in the correct location. Are you sure this isn't something being inserted by a user add-on? Is anyone else seeing this nonsense?

nope, but there's been almost identical topic with very similar ads in the past posted on forums - turned out user installed bunch adware by installing some other free soft and mindlessly clicking "Next".

@dafuqbro - get some other fresh-clean browser and look at SG in it. Then install some cleaning software and clean your freaking PC instead of putting a blame on SG ;p

It's the Easy SteamGifts add-on, not SG.

Disable the add-on to remove it

I see the ad too. It's very aggressive.

Pretty sure, disabling the add-on removes it.

Also, the div id suggests it's Easy SteamGifts: http://prntscr.com/455xwb

Prob u installed utorrent (which came by default with a crap shitload of adds for google chrome).

Just go to recently installed programs and uninstall the one u don't recognize and have same installation date as Utorrent.
Control Panel > Uninstall a program > sort by date

If that is not ur problem than go to ur extension and uninstall all the ones u didn't put there.
Chrome://extensions/

If none of them work, u have a virus :)

To everyone - report the items as they are against eBay's terms and conditions for sale.

Backfire of hilarious proportions.

yeah mates, sorry for that i had to edit the whole topic after i realised that it's SG add-on problem.. I disabled that banner from the adblocker.. I apologise,it was my misstake.

I never thought that they would promote their shits through the add-on... Anyway i can live without it, so I just disabled it. Sorryo nce again, and no i havent caught virus, since its clean windows with few games on it,skype and utorrent. I disabled the add-on to check if it will remove the banner, and it really did.. So that's what caused that banner to appear..

Edit: IT's gone now.
