HE doesn't. He posted a another users account, and pretended to be them. With the link you originally posted, we can get the SteamTrades account linked to it if there is one, but there isn't one.

^ This.
OP: Always make sure you're trading with the same person. There's a link on every Steamtrades profile. If it takes you to a different profile from whoever you're speaking to, run and don't look back...

As far as Steam is concerned, you gave them of your own free will. You agreed to the trade, your problem, not theirs. Its why you always check everything first.

Unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to.
Sorry you got scammed. It sucks. Hopefully some of the tips on here, and a bit of extra caution will prevent it happening to you again.

Remove the link for one, and then read the guides on SteamTrades about avoiding scams from impersonators and other jerks.
Like SteamRep, which shows him listed as a scammer.

He doesn't use SteamGifts / Trades himself, so Support for these sites can't do anything to him. SteamRep already had him as a serious scammer.

keep in mind that it could be an impersonator. learn a lesson from this and double-check everything before going first, or just never go first.
sorry it happened :/

They might. While it's not the norm, I've had a couple of people which much higher Steamtrades rep go first when trading with me, simply on the basis that I'm trading my giftable copy for their key. I have next to no reputation on Steamtrades!
It probably depends very much on the mindset of the person you're trade with :)

Very true. I got single digits rep and still had others insist they go first.

The only thing you can do now, if there is no other official recourse, is to learn a hard lesson.
It sounds nasty, but really the best thing you can do is learn from this, and be more cautious.
It could have been a lot worse. You only lost 3 TF2 keys, and while that is still a bummer, he could have potentially taken you for a much worse ride.

There is no harm in sending these to Steam, along with a report.
I wouldn't expect anything to come of it, though :(

Impersonator.
And what you should do now? go on with your life? it's just 7$, I don't think it really matters.

You got scammed. What to do?
First: Slap your self into the face. It's your own fault!
Next: Think about what reasons you could get scammed for and don't make these mistakes again.
Finally: Never get scammed again.

Chance to be scammed always exists with chargebacks around

He/she is already flagged as a scammer on Steamrep.
There was a link elsewhere on the page, but it was wisely removed shortly after posting...

Sorry you lost your keys, but next time you double check his steamtrades profile, steamrep, vac bans (not necessarily a scammer, but cheater is pretty close to scammer in my book), trade bans. If he's clean and has high rep on steamtrades, you can be sure that person wont scam you and you can go first with your part of the trade.

Since when does L4D2 have keys? Also if he offered you a Rome Total War gift why did he not trade that to you when you traded the keys?
Comment has been collapsed.
I offered him 3 tf2 keys + Rome Total War for L4D2 + Mark of the Ninja.
We agreed on this. I'll give him 2 tf2 keys, he'll give me the game keys then i'll give him rome total war, but after he took 2 tf2 keys he deleted me.
Edit: I had now idea that L4D2 has a key or not. Is there a way we can learn which games have keys?

Almost all games have keys for them, but in case of Valve games they are pretty rare. In case you are trading key from Valve games, ask the trader to show proof of purchase (e.g. retail CD box showing part of the key).
But yeah you better don't trade for Valve games keys.

Oops, I misread. Thought you meant he offered Rome Total War to you.

I have no idea just go cry or smash your computer atleast thats what I do.

This guy was going to give me Mark of the Ninja and Left 4 Dead 2 key for 3 tf2 keys and Rome: Total War gift. I gave him 2 tf2 key because he has 117 positive rep on steamtrades but then he deleted me and made his profile private.
What should i do now?
