can't answer that as i havnt finished either but i hear invisible war is the not so good one so go with the original :p

Get Deus Ex 1. DX1 is an undeniably better game. It is, in fact, one of the best games ever made.

Invisible war was not bad, but not nearly the unparaleled awesomeness that is DX1.

I can complete Deus Ex on a full run in about 12/13 hours. A speed run can get around 6 hours, possibly less.

Deus Ex:IW I can't really remember but a normal run shouldn't be longer than 10 hours I believe, this one is a bit shorter than Deus Ex IIRC.

If you have to choose, take Deus Ex, not IW. IW is of lower quality and has some bad elements typical from a console part of its generation.

Here I'll copy what I said on another thread abouth the Deus Ex Collection, some info could be useful for playing Deus Ex.

"Deus Ex is definitely the best of the 2 older ones. I still play at least 1 game every year since 10 years ago.

Deus Ex : Invisible War has to be played (Deus Ex's direct sequel after al) but has many flaws along some nice stuff.
As Raverkid says, ammo and inventory management is typically consolified (for that time) with universal ammo and 1 item = 1 slot inventory compared to the 1/2 ammo type per weapon and classical RPG inventory for Deus Ex.
The game also eats a very large amount of ressources due to either bad port or poor optimization, not that it shuold be a problem for nowadays computer (mine can't run at at full).

Most likely the best graphics mod you could find for Deus Ex would be HDTP mod used along New Vision mod. For a quite detailed wall of text of an installation process this page on the Steam Forums is very useful.

Basically it makes the game go from so nostalgic old school to an enbetter high res version.

Frankly, for someone like me who played the game almost after it's release, I almost prefer the original version with just increased resolution, nostalgia and its large claws. Also, activating a part of those mods (don't remember which) in the game makes way slow down enormously due to heavy recquirement on the GPU (once again my rig is old and crap so no worry if you can load Human Revolution)."

DE GOTY is definitely on the top10 ever.

I think you can finish Deus Ex in around 20 hours and Invisible War in3-5 (after playing first one and seeing how they made this one console friendly)
