New Policy: Don't Call Out Submitters

Just to be sure, what's the penalty if you do this? I don't do it, I'm just curious of the penalty.

If a giveaway is reported, but the mods are asleep and it doesn't get removed before it has alread ended, do the people who entered get their points back?

Thank god. Always irked me to see people accuse others who are giving away free shit.

I dunno if this rule was needed since many times I've noticed if a giveaway is fake looking at some comments and if people were falsely accused they could defend themselves with a comment or updating giveaway description.

What about ASKING for some sort of proof, or simply if the giveaway is fake, instead of just posting the usual rude comments?

Totally Agreed! But what Do Steam Gifts do to the people who do not give the winners a winning prize for individuals giveaway.

Its finally a sticky. Hope this fixes the constant "fakes" claims in some of the giveaways i see.

I think almost any rude comments have no place on this site. It's a generosity portal that costs nothing to participate in. It's poor form to be a thankless loser.

In that case, can we have a box to fill in with a reason when we report things? I sometimes post a comment saying why I don't like a giveaway, solely so that whoever checks it to see why I've reported it will be able to see a reason when they scan the comments.

Backseat moderation has never accomplished anything except trouble for people who are following the rules. Good to see at least one part of it becoming against the rules.

yeesh. This is going to have a lot of people doing fake giveaways now because people will get banned for pointing out fake giveaways. Seems counter-intuitive.

So even if you report giveaway right before it ends and mods don't have the time to remove giveaway, you get a refound even if mods see it 5 hours after the giveaway ended? Ok, seems fair to me.

I can't agree more. It's hard to ignore someone said my giveaway "is obviously fake" thoughtless.

We really need strict punishment for this.. people just can't stop doing it.
