I've never played Terraria, but everywhere I'm hearing that this will be the death of it. It is one big jokey exaggeration or am I missing something completely?

Awh.. I loved Terraria, and was a pretty big chunk of my gaming for this past year. It's been great.

Sure hope the Gaslamp rumor is true..

To be fair, a lot of developers simply release the game and then leave it, never giving any extra content or even patches. Oh well...

Lol, PC gamers are spoiled. Have you forgotten the days when you bought a game on a console and that was it? No billions of updates to extend its lifespan by 100 years. Play it till you're bored, then move on to other games. :)

The game isn't dead. It's just no longer going to be supported by it's makers.

That aside, I'm looking towards Starbound. Seems more fun.

Paid 2.50 for it, spent 88 hours in the game already and haven't even achieved everything (not that I've spent most of my time boss hunting or anything). Still a great game and going to be about the best you can do for play value vs money.

Wow, I love this game, and am sad to see it go to see it dropped so quickly. They should at least do two last things. Add mod support, and let fans take over development for additional content.

Does anyone else think that this makes the Collector's Edition rather... pointless?

Even if they suddenly drop all support for this game, it is still one of the biggest gems in my Steam library. Over 100 hours and counting and I STILL haven't done everything yet. And that's partly because I've spent some of that time decking out a multiplayer server with some acquaintances.

This game has epically good bang for the byte. At a basic size of about 20 megs (or maybe less), it's gotten me more playtime than TF2.

Pretty cool game, but I think it's good that the devs are moving on. I mean dudes need to get paid, and they might make another great game so I'm all for it.

IDK i got the game during the winter event for free and Ive played 40 mins and haven't touched it, its very boring unless you have like 5 friends with you unless im missing something, i doubt terraria will die though.

This is sad. I seriously hope the Gaslamp Games thing works out. I would love to see the game keep being updated, plus having new people work on it could be a really good thing.
