Do you organize your library on Steam? If you do, how do you organize it?

My collection is becoming a decent size and I have all of my games in one big list. If I get any more games, I might need to start organizing it all. But I don't know where to start.

So, do you do it by genre, by purchase date, completed games?

I have a strange organization that has folders like "Worthy titles that I have never played" and "Old n' Forgotten"

I hope to get the Sega Genesis packs for the nostalgia factor. And that's a load of games.

Sega Genesis pack counts as one game in your library. They're all loaded through the one game selection

I'm also thinking of organizing it because until now I just organized it by date (games, new, newnew, autumn, winter) and 100% completed.
I think I'll organized my games soon by "not worth", "waiting", "next" and "playing" when I got the time, though since I basically know what I'm playing at the moment it may take some time.

I have 3 categories - beaten, trash and games. That's all I need. :-)

Just click on "Installed" and uninstall everything that's trash. Boom, only two categories needed.

Why do you guys have a trash category? Why do you own games that you consider to be trash? I wouldn't even get free games that I thought were trash.

For DOTA 2 and DOTA 2 Test, as well as for whatever future crap I might happen to stumble upon. Though I've yet to get anything else that I dislike that much, thankfully. All of my gifts and bundle games are quite nice. :)

Sometimes you buy a game expecting it to be good and it turns out to be trash...

Anyone have some easy way to organize games by genre? In Steam Store is simple not enough category. I have problem especially with this mix type indie games. My action, strategy and indie category is too damn high!

Yeah, i was going to do a genre category. But, a game like Deus Ex. Is it a RPG, a FPS? It's both so I'll create a Deux Ex Category by itself?

This is from the right to the left (left to right is everything else on the left side of the screen) and in alphabetical order, minus and games starting with The, like The Elder Scrolls is under "E" for Elder.

"Best Games Ever"
"Completed"
"Movies And Apps"
"Nope"
"Now Playing"
"Play Later"

My "Nope" category is where I put the games that I'm not interested in playing. It helps me to ignore my crap, but doesn't hide the uninstalled games that I might be interested in playing. And "Play Later" is pretty much my games queue. It's what I'll be playing once I've completed everything in my "Now Playing" folder. My movies and apps folder is for anything that isn't a game, such as Indie Game: The Movie, as well as software.

Come to think about it, I do have a few games that could be in the trash category. Like my Mac versions of Civ 4 and Dota.

I tried using a bunch of sub genres, but until you can tag a title with more than one genre (RPG and FPS as an example), I'm just going with Installed.
