Aim, believe me, when it's about Bethesda and TES and Fallout series, replay value is where it's at. You'll spend hours of gameplay on it. I spent about 1000-2000 on my retail copy of oblivion (only 11 on steam), 100 on fallout new vegas, and about 500-1000 on Fallout 3. Buy Skyrim, you won't regret it.

Obviously not. I find it hard to believe that Bethesda makes a game at least 200 hours long without the main quest.
Unless he means walking around and doing everything that's humanly possible. In that case, I spend more time on LoZ Twilight Princess and Borderlands.

Hours in my last Morrowind file: 758
Hours in my last Oblivion file: 491
DLC + Mods + Side quests make the games impossible to gauge how long they really are.

I have played thousands of hours of Morrowind and Oblivion due to mods/DLC. With the modding community there is infinite amount of things to do. There is no question in which game to get Skyrim.

+1 If you are on a budget get Metro 2033 when it goes on sale again (it often does), especially since you say you have no source of income. Skyrim is expensive and although it will provide for hours of gameplay at that price it should not be worth buying for you (even if it were to provide 1000+ hours of gameplay)... and by the time Skyrim goes on sale to a reasonable price you will have played the hell out of Metro and will have a job by then and so can afford it :)

I concur! :D
Metro is very short but enjoyable and goes on sale for a few bucks regularly.

Metro 2033 appears on deals often for $5 or so. If you are on a tight budget buying it then would be the smart idea. Skyrim will be $60 for a while, so you'd better plan for it later.

The Elder Scrolls: Arena and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall are up for free download from Bethesda.
You can them here:

They are quite old and require DOS emulation, but they are priced very well :P

I disagree there are many jobs out there. Any retard can get one.

That depends entirely on ones health and where they live. For example, due to physical problems, I am unable to get a job that involves any real physical labor. Where I live, hardly anywhere is hiring. Not even Walmart or Mcdonalds.

Someone from EU could get you Metro for 10€, which is a bit less than the US price.
I will definately offer some "MetroDeals" in the next few months when I need some stuff from US :P.

Agreed it is a rather short game, but it is fun. As for the OP. I say either try to win metro, or get it on a sale. The game is only like 12 hours long if that.(going by my playtime) While it is a good game, it is rather linear and not nearly as open as Skyrim should be.

other than many more hours of gameplay in skyrim there is also replayability value of different characters. considering skyrim has updated skill system id say playing different types of characters would be a good choice. (also if you are lets say playing a thiefy kind of character and get powerful enough, going through fighters guild quests was kinda lame. id rather sorta skip the whole quest line and do it with another char. this is rpg after all). i dont think ive heard metro has any kind of char development system to allow completely different gameplay styles. i might be wrong tho.

I have never played any game that's similar to Skyrim and Metro 2033 and they're both interesting. The only reason why I ask is because I don't make a lot of money (hell, I don't even have a job and I make $2 a day xD). Metro 2033 is cheaper than Skyrim, but Reddit got me hyped for Skyrim; therefore, which one is totally worth it? (I'm only interested in SP)
