That seems ridiculously high, even with the amount of subs he has. I read somewhere, but I don't remember where, that the amount was around 1-2 million after all taxes and other expenses- I will try to find the link

i read on the verge not too long ago that he makes like 140000$ to 1.4 million a month.

Around $140,000 seams plausible, it could possibly be a little bit higher- if the made that much every month than it would be 1.68 milliom

I don't watch his videos but if this is anywhere near accurate he's obviously doing something right.

Well, he knows his audience and feeds them garbage that they like, and he's not afraid to experiment with different shades of trash to get more moeny.
Pretty clever if you ask me.

I have some rooms for rent on Mars. Competitive rates! :>

I used to watch his videos every day, so I guess that I was a fan. Not everyone who watches/used to watch his videos is retarded, I mean, I have some friends who watch him as well, but they're not like that. If you don't like him, don't watch his videos, but I think that calling everyone from his fanbase a retarded 12yo boy/girl is not really alright, imho. That's just my opinion...Oh, and sorry if I made any mistakes, english is not my native language. xD

nope, not everyone gets ads per view and some use adblock.
You can learn more about it through this guy

PewDiePie is actually making roughly from $1.6-1.7 million at minimum to about $16-17Million at maximum per year... depending on subs/views additions an stuff each month

Agreed, to me his videos just feel like one of those things where I want to laugh maniacally as I throw petrol over it and douse it with fire. I have no idea what he is like personally though, but I do know I hate his videos and I can't stand watching them so I would say he earns way too much money!! No matter the amount :p.

The charity thing os solely for gaining more popularity. People who think he's just generous, lie to themselves. Sorry, the truth hits hard, I know.
Comment has been collapsed.
Yeah pretty much, every charity event that he does has his name plastered all over it, although that could possibly in a way help raise more money from his fans he could still make more of an effort. I can remember the e-begging scandal early on is his youtube "career" where he raised tons of money for his 'friend' by asking for donations even though he was making quite a lot from ad revenue at the time.

But that's it, how is he generous, when all the money comes from buyers of the bundle and not from him? His fans' views about him are so distorted. If he were generous he would just donate some of his own money. He makes what, some millions in a year after all from youtube. THAT would be generous, not letting his fans bleed for him and he just gains from it.

Good for him, It doesn't make me happy, It doesn't bother me, I don't care.

Also I don't follow him a lot, but isn't his production costs quite low?
My understanding is that the bigger channels are quite expensive to make content for if they have to film anything with decent quality. But, let's players and such just throw web cam feed next to video and upload it after some editting, basicly zero costs there...

Good for him.
That's what everyone in the youtuber world its trying to do and I don't think that line of work would go for the long run (you can be a popular youtuber in your 20's even in your 30's, but stretching it more than that would be really difficult because "the viewers" and the fans are something very random: today they love you and tomorrow nobody cares about you).
He can save money and get a more normal job in the years to come without worries.
I've had some laughs with his videos in some hard times for me and it didn't cost me anything, so I'm ok with him having that money.

Yes. Just like pop music. Here today, gone tomorrow. But depending on his cashflow, he'll be set for life, assuming he's halfway responsible with his money.
And if he's half as smart as some claim him to be then he'll morph into whatever the next target market might be.
If I'm him, I'd consider game production, talk shows, reality shows, and so on.

the thing I hate about him is that he gets advanced copies of some games, and then he does a full playthrough...weeks before the official release. How is that fair to the other LPers who try to do their work the honest way: Get up early on the release day, get the game and play it. I watched PDP before, but after this happened I stopped. And I realized that his humor is just yelling like a girl at things that are not scary.

I don't care. some guys get much more for throwing / kicking balls around once a week.

Estimated, but he's no doubt made a million or two. Far more are getting more for doing less (or doing more evil).
As for me, I don't like him or his "work" and will immediately close a tab if his voice or image appears but I'm not going to whine and complain about him. I see him as just one of those things people are into for a while and then look back and wonder "How did I used to like this?"
By far the worst thing about him is that he's part of the message that you too can be a YouTube e-celebrity if you're willing to whore yourself out and sell your soul to Google.

"Estimated yearly earnings"
Looks at total amount of views of the channel.
Ok sure, because PewDiePie has only had a channel for a year...
(Also, UberHaxorNova already said that those estimates are bullshit)
Comment has been collapsed.
Yes, that was what I said, thank you.
I was just pointing out that their system for calculating is horribly, horribly flawed.

Based on Social Blade's statistics for him and comparing my own channel's actual monetary gain results vs what social blade reports, I think Pewdiepie makes around $3M-$5M per year.
I got that number by looking at SB's estimated monthly earnings (monthly, not yearly, because their yearly stat is currently broken) for me, taking my actual earnings and getting the %age of the max earnings SB reports. Then going to PDP's SB page and using that %age to gauge his earnings. Of course it's not that accurate since it takes into account only cpm/views of the last 30 days and multiplies it by 12... hence the big range of 3 - 5 m.
