What about link spams? Are those now forbidden as well?

I feel slightly sexually assaulted, that is if it actually gets them off.
Time to call my lawyer and see if I can get proper justice. Thanks for keeping the site less spammy.

I am Jack's complete lack of surprise. (And that's a good thing).

I am not really sure, but some names come to my mind. Let's check'em

I found him.
Well, to be honest it was not that bad. I don't know but I didn't feel annoyed by it. Moreover a 28-day suspension is a helluvalot :/

This is
what I wanted.
Fair enough, the user is simply trying to participate in the forums so a first warning is a good idea. But he has to learn that it's not his personal toilet for asking whatever the fuck he wants. A permanent ban for repeat offenders is a perfect response.

If you're 14 years old, don't have any friends, and have found a place where you can actually express yourself, you won't even know what spam is.
I understand that there are many people who spam up the forums with useless topics because they're bored or want attention, but you have to treat it as though they simply aren't aware of what they're doing (for the first offence). If they haven't learned from that first punishment, they should be thrown out.

Well Jonex, to be honest I do think that a 28 day suspension is much for a first warning. Too much.
I might be playing the devil's advocate here, but to me those threads were not that annoying and I think a couple of pats in the head (Something ranging from 2 to 5 days) would have been enough.
And as far as I am concerned I'm completely cool when it comes to off-topic not everything is going to be hidden giveaways and that (Only an example) but some of those threads actually created a place for discussing, which is what a community is about.
That's my opinion.

I'm all for creating a thread that generates discussion. What I'm not for, is creating a thread that asks something that can be answered in 1 minute with a google search. Or a thread that asks which game is better because the OP is clearly unable to make such an important decision on his/her own. Don't even get me started on the pointless threads.
Basically, I believe in a 28 day suspension because in order to make people learn, they need to fear what will happen. I'm not trying to sound Fascist when I say that lol. But people have to think twice before they blunder into the forum rather than thinking "I'll only get banned for a week, so I won't worry about my actions."
People will be lazy, careless and exploit rules if they're not strictly enforced. Especially online.

Oh, I see. To be honest I didn't pay too much attention to him, and I didn't know he had had a previous warning already. Anyways I've always been quite lenient when it comes to spam. I do not really find it too annoying. But I do see your point.
And for what I see, I'll have to be careful myself, I have a knack for asking stupid questions :S

Here's a little tidbit: It wasn't the first time he was suspended (for what reason I do not know) but the poster said in one of his first threads after his rehabilitation that he would be careful not to create junk threads in the future. He was obviously aware that this was a problem. Anyway, we all know how that turned out. So the 28 day suspension is actually not his first warning.

Yeah, I didn't know that. If he had been already warned for that 28 days is not that bad.

what I wanted for Jonex to comment.

I've been getting multiple reports about a user who has made countless threads with little to no purpose, solely to troll or whatever it is that gets them off. This particular user has made at least three threads in an hour and is making at least that number daily. This is not acceptable. Pointless spam has always been punishable. Spam on this scale will have twenty-eight days suspension as a first warning. Second offence will be permanent. Spam on that scale is not something you can "accidentally" do without knowing it was wrong, especially with the number of public complaints they have recieved as well as the complaints to the moderator.
