Just a few pointers:

1.

Submitted games to Steam Gifts must be Steam games

At this point, we're only handling Steam based games. So, if it doesn't activate or gift through Steam, please do not submit it at this time.

2.

You cannot gift games that are in your library

Just to drive that point home. If you go to "Manage gifts and guest passes" and you see a gift there, it IS suitable for submitting. If it is under "My Games", you cannot.

On Humble/Frozenbyte Bundles

If you've activated one of the keys, they are ALL yours, please do not submit them or trade them. The developers put those there for YOUR convenience. If you bought a bundle and give people the download link, that is more or less equal to piracy, which we don't want on this site.

If you have any questions, shoot a message to a mod, thanks!

I've won One of those Desura Keys (hooray, who exactly wants that?) and received an Email with the Code.

Do I Enter that I got my Gift or do I Enter that I did Not receive my Steam copy?
Will you take them out of the system so that I don't have to bother?

If they didn't give you the link to the entire humble bundle page with an unused steam and desura key on it, I would say you didn't receive the gift.

I'm going to mark it as not received. Personally I give them the benefit of the doubt that they created the giveaway with good intentions, but a shared humble link cannot be accepted as legitimate.

Honestly, I don't think the bumble bundles should be allowed at all. I doubt there is anyone at this point who bought extra copies of the bundle to give to other people at a later date. Any copies of the bundle at this point are likely people who already played the games and are now giving away the link or codes.

So a bundle key isn't locked out after it is used? Shady people could pirate the games by using the same key to access the bundle on several different steam accounts?

That seems to be an extremely large oversight if it is the case. And people selling them on ebay for $10 a pop... Damn.

No, once a Steam key is used up from one Humble Bundle, it is no good anymore.

Well, if they are one-use only, then I don't see a problem with them being allowed on the site.

you can download games unlimited times though, from the website directly. steam is only optional

Isn't this steam gifts? Cause I supposedly won a game and instead of a key I got emailed a link to download the game saying it won't work with steam...

You must think this is gamethefts.com?

" These DO NOT activate on steam.

But you can still play them DRM free and just as a non-steam game. This link will always remain active if you ever need to re-download a game. If you have any questions or comments just reply and i'll be happy to get back to you.

Enjoy :)

I'd prefer not to steal a game, thanks though brah but that's what this essentially is.

Well thanks a lot Raj Patel but last time I checked this was STEAM gifts?

Which game did you win? Was it a HumbleBundle collection? As far as I know, all of the HumbleBundles are redeemable through Steam, though, only certain games from the collection are redeemable (Splot and Jack Claw from the Humble Frozenbyte Bundle are not redeemable through Steam, for instance). If you were given a key to simply re-download an already activated HumbleBundle key, then that's a big no-no. If that's the case, then you should be refunded your points and the gifter ought to be reprimanded somehow as is mentioned on Cult's 3rd point.

Edit: This is a shame. He's the person who won my first giveaway. Redrum671, that is.

From what I understand, Humble Bundles were submitted, and the winners were emailed direct download links, as the key had been redeemed.

The 6 winners of the Humble Indie Bundle #1 got the same Email with the same www.humblebundle.com Code (!).

The Steam Keys (for HIB #1 and HIB #2) were activaed already and therefore you basically just download it on that site and play it. To be honest I think some action should be taken into cosideration, since this site is about ->Steam<- Gifts and 1 Code for 6 winners seems to be quite odd as well.

I would like to get my points back and that "Gifts Won: 1" out of my profile.

The contents of the email notifying me off my winnings are exactly is postage above in quotations. I was given no code whatsoever, just sent me a link to redownload an already activated key. I would appreciate it if my points were refunded and my winnings set back to 0

Will it stay in our Profile that we won a game which copy we never received?
Makes my flaming "Damn, i never win anything" sound kinda stupid.

And since it was not even in the description I would love to get my Points back for that one. - Cult, your turn :)

For the Humble Bundles I don't think people should submit them if they have ever used ANY of the download links OR used ANY of the steam keys.

Personally, I don't think the Humble Bundles should be allowed either.

When I have a humble bundle giveaway I send the first link humble bundle provides so that the winner has access to all of the humble bundle or any updates to it (such as humble bundle 2 getting humble bundle 1). After reading about this issue, I think gifters should specifically outline whats included in the bundle at the moment of entry and what will be added later or not available through steam (it looks like eventually the games come over, but it takes some time)
