For the past couple of hours I've been trying to find a way to have Sticky Notes synced between my desktop and my laptop.

I used symbolic links for the data file for Microsoft's Sticky Notes, but the problem is it only saves the data to it when you close Sticky Notes, and I like to leave it constantly open.

I've tried CloudStickyNotes, but couldn't get it to run at all, but it would be the right sort of thing.

I also had a look at:

  • ResophNotes. The screenshot provided is ugly as hell.
  • Gumnotes. It looks much better, but still requires you to close a note for it to be synced (from what I can see from the video).
  • Cintanotes. Also ugly, and only the pro version syncs.

I don't necessarily need support for Android and iOS, but if it has it too then that's an added bonus :)

What can everyone else recommend? What do you do for note-taking? :)

And what would a thread be without a little giveaway? :D

Thanks to dys I'm using Evernote's StickyNotes app :)

I use Juicenote it isn't a desktop app, but its very useful;

u can organize almost every kind of content of internet (such as videos, gidgets, images and links).

it also have a firefox plugin, an android app and a movile version.

i use it to keep all my links, ideas and todo lists there.

Had a look at the video, it looks nice, and supports a huge amount of stuff, especially considering you can embed stuff it in, but it's not what I'm looking for :)

Trying now, will update :)

Edit: Like Juicenotes, it has an impressive amount of features. However, it doesn't let me have stickies on my desktop (unless I'm missing something), but if it did, it would be perfect

slickrun has a jotpad, which you can (using advanced options) have saved to a dropbox folder. This is what I do.
