Came just to complain about how much steam support sucks, worst support I've ever seen, I came with a simple elementary question and its been almost a week and there was no reply at all still, just what the hell. XP

yeah, you'd think they could hire a few more people with all the money they make.

And up till now, there wasn't even a single time when they actually helped me with something, I dare say that even Origin support is so much better.

This I agree with. It took 27 days to get an issue fixed for me once. It took 19 days between the two last replies.

Another time I asked about a game missing from my inventory and they sent me instructions on how to take screenshots on PC and Mac.

EA, on the other hand, has helped me in a matter of minutes over the phone. It's so great to actually be able to talk to someone directly instead of having to wait weeks between replies.

Also, EA gave me an extra BF3 key because I was having issues. Oh, and they forgot to remove Need for Speed: Most Wanted (the new game) from my account when I canceled my pre-order, so I still have that one too. :P

EA's support is way better than Steam's. At least the Swedish EA support.

Blizzard support is 100 times worse. I recently got an email about a Warcraft 3 issue I reported 6 years ago >.>

Agreed. My issue was a phone only issue and their lines were engaged for hours even when i'd hit hang up and call back right away.

Steam support can only be reached thru their website and can sometimes take over a week to even get an answer (only saying they're investigating). Origin as an online chat that will get you in touch with a Support person within minutes.. HOW is Steam support better than EA Support ?

Maybe because they actually helped me deal with steam client/games problems? While EA support just keep sending me to FAQ? (and there is nothing in FAQ about ME3 endless commendation/victory packs)

I've only contacted support once, and I must say it was pretty good. I probably haven't ever received amazing support, so I don't know what exactly you guys are expecting, but they're pretty good. Apart from the first message being sent 3 days after my request and being a pretty much copy/paste, during the next 2 much quicker replies, they managed to help me and solve the problem.

I'd say the Swedish Logitech support is really great. Called them, told them my Z5450 speaker system was broken. Two days later I got a Z5550 delivered to my door. Now that was excellent service.

Some technical difficulties with the fact that when I install the games with steam it doesn't add to the registry of windows.

Got in touch with Steam support about 4 times, for various issues.

Every time it was done pretty quickly and professionally; guess one just needs luck finding the right supporter? :L

Best support I've ever had: Asked a question about google fiber to their support team (not even right place) and received a paragraph response two minutes later fully answering my question. Sent by a human.

Have you guys ever consider the fact that the steam community is like 5 million + people? . I bet they getting a lot of mails for about a 85435463 different things. Yeah i know a company like this should have 684136643546 support staff but still the mails they receiving must be over 9000. A week is long period for an answer but dunno...i guess i want to play the devils lawyer. As far as i know Valve is one of the best companies i know...like Google. With standards and polite manners. Not sicking your blood like EA for example. Don't be so cruel. Gabe is a sweetheart.

Yes. I considered it. I was very polite and very patient. And then some monkey with the reading comprehension of a remedial 1st grader C&P'd a response that had nothing, ZERO, to do with my question. Then I sent back another response, patiently, that said I understood that they must see hundreds if not thousands of silly end-user errors and redundant questions. However, could you please re-read the question and get back to me.

The response? Another C&P that was completely unrelated to the first, or the original question.

It's one thing to be overloaded in support. It's another thing entirely to flippantly ignore and fail to read, at all, a customer problem.

There is simply no excuse for customer "support" like this. Valve is in a unique position as a near monopoly for DRM and satellite services/perks. But if/when there is ever a proper competitor to them, they'd damn well better figure out how to offer proper support or they will be obliterated by said competition. That may not happen soon, or even for a long time, but at some point, it will become problematic.

My last issue involved them not providing me a game I properly paid for. There is a point where class action lawsuits do become problematic for a company.

Bottom line, the OP has it right. Steam Support is hopelessly, utterly, abysmally, and idiotically terrible. Among the worst I have ever encountered. They'd do 1000X better to outsource some phone support. There is at least a human to empathize with on the other line, then, instead of a disfigured cretin with the two fingers required to C&P whatever the random FAQ generator flashes on their screen.

Horrible.

My experience with Steam support can fill books and then fill libraries with these books.
Even the most basic question is often damned to be "answered" by some copy-paste lobotomite.
I've yet to deal with some problems regarding my account but (sadly - and maybe fully understandable) i gave up sending in any additional support tickets as i can predict the same brainless comment on my ticket over and over.

A couple of years ago when I got The Orange Box, I noticed it was the german censored version and asked Steam if they could fix it because I bought it in Sweden (and I am swedish too) and Steam answered within 3 days and said that they had fixed it. Opened Steam and downloaded a very small update to HL2 and since then everything has worked :)

Forums are your best bet for these kind of seconds. Steam suppport works fine as far as I'm concerned, as I've heard lots of people managed to get their hijacked account back in a matter of days.
