Good to know, was actually looking at the game but not going to bother now.

I cant comment on the game itself , i thankfully dont own it . After reading a few discussions , and being turned off by ingame gameplay shown on youtube (even the dev stupidly linked a video that shows how bad it is , and the narrator in the vid is goin "ermm whats going on here ), i turned to metacritic to get a magazines review.i have seen nothing but negative comments about it (the ones that are real).
Developer pettiness , and dishonesty aside , i wonder does any sg guy who owns it can say its the best thing since the sliced french canadian moose
Comment has been collapsed.
You're just a troll, that's why you were banned from the discussion board. You had nothing relevant to say, you were throwing around unfounded accusations, and you don't own the game.
I do own the game and I've had no game-breaking bugs whatsoever after 3.5 hrs of play (thus far). The devs are working very hard addressing the issues people do post about, which is a very good sign - something many developers don't do, especially for single-player games.
I have no doubt that there are people experiencing issues, but I am not one of them, so I cannot bash the game for something I'm not experiencing. So far the game is exactly what I expected - it's not perfect, but it's an interesting experience so far. The only negative I would personally say is that it's very easy to die, so I've started saving very often.
I'm currently running Win7-64, 3770k, GTX460, and 16GB RAM. Steam is installed on an SD, but the game is not, so that should have no effect.

I don't like his opinion, he has to be a troll
He pointed out a very convenient thing on metacritic, and that got him banned. If you read the MC comments, then you would've seen it was just one comment rephrased, by users that only had one review, which was this game we are talking about.
Comment has been collapsed.
Did YOU read the MC comments? I find the 6-9 scores a lot more believable than the 0 scores. The 6-9 reviews do mention some negatives about the game, unlike the 0s that just bash the game without saying anything constructive - hell, one even compares it to Bioshock Infinite....wtf?!
Comment has been collapsed.
So if I create an account to review the game, that makes it illegitimate?
As I said, I find those more trusting than the 0s (minus the 10 one).
Comment has been collapsed.
You don't find it suspicious at all? New accounts made to review one which just popped into steam, similar text in each just rephrased and all giving high rating. To me this looks like an attempt to falsify the user scores, making it look like better game than it is.

I was just pm'd from some1 on steam who saw this , and had his own probs with the game. InsomniaNY is friends with stephane on steam, the dev making the reviews on MC . It kinda makes sense now , was wondering why he was getting ignorant , and not being able to objectively look at what was going on.

I'm friends with Stephane because I'm Press. Since you obviously took the time to look at my Steam profile, you should have also been able to figure that out too. I had been offering him constructive criticism on things to change/improve.
You're the only one ignorant here.

If someone as subjective, biased and blind to misbehaviour from a dev as you is part of the gaming press, that makes me very, very sad. But thanks for the insight.
I shall use this thread as an example in future, when trying to make the point to others that press is never unbiased nor always right - or even clever in their assessments - as an extreme example of the concept.
You've been most helpful.

I'm not sure if you're trying to be a troll or are just really naive. First off, let's be clear that claiming to be "friends" with Stephane is simply in the Steam sense and not in real life. I've had no contact with Stephane outside of Steam. Furthermore, look at when I made that statement - three weeks ago, well before this crap with TB ever occurred. I do not in any way condone his actions against TB. I think they're appalling and I'm even more pissed because he's ruined my own reputation because of morons like you.
Comment has been collapsed.
No, I wasn't trolling, at all. I also understood entirely that "being friends" was referring to being Steam "friends" - I never suggested otherwise, nor did I claim you were talking to the dev. outside of Steam (which is a moot point, anyway).
My judgement of you was based on your obtuse attitude, saying absolutely asinine things like "you're just a troll, that's why you were banned from the discussion board.." when the guy's making a perfectly cogent argument / point, and "I do own the game and I've had no game-breaking bugs whatsoever after 3.5 hrs of play (thus far).. ..I have no doubt that there are people experiencing issues, but I am not one of them, so I cannot bash the game for something I'm not experiencing". Right. So, lots of people post videos, screenshots etc. all over the web of horrendous issues with the game, yet their experience with the game counts for nothing in your reviews, because you haven't experienced or been able to reproduce the same issues? Ignoring such reports, possibly because you enjoy some of the games' premise / theming / intended gameplay? That's bias, and quite ludicrous bias, at that.
What further drove my comment was idiotic ramblings defending a horribly bad game, such as "the devs are working very hard addressing the issues people do post about" - which is patently false - as well as refusing to see an obvious ploy by the dev. to artificially raise Metacritic scores. This has happened before on other games, and any fool with two eyes and a working brain can see exactly what he was trying to do, there. Especially in light of more recent developments, such as what he tried doing to TB, as well as censoring the Steam discussions on his own game by outright banning people posting anything negative. Again, with some simple deductive reasoning, one can deduce that the dev. was doing nothing more than trying to silence people thoroughly and long enough to slow the spread of news of how horrible the game is, in an attempt to still get some cash from Steam, before sales entirely dried up / halted. If you don't see that, you're truly an idiot.
Then there's the simple issue of looking at the game objectively, to assess empirical qualitative values, which you seem entirely unable to do (hence my further balking at you being a part of the games press, as this would definitely be a base requirement for good reporting / reviewing). The game is severely broken, bugged, and full of (sometimes game breaking) glitches, aside from having a lot of problems with core game mechanics that simply don't work as intended, are ambivalent in their workings, or are simply not part of what you could to some degree objectively call a potentially enjoyable experience.
Have you watched TB's video, and Birgirpall's? You can check my thread right here, where I have listed the "key features" the game itself touts as selling points, providing links to specific times in both videos that show how horribly even the "key features" the game itself flaunts work in-game, even failing to work entirely in some cases (stealth, for example). The videos are worth watching for some laughs alone, and show exactly what's all wrong with this game. Wrong enough to make me say, that any games press member worth their salt, who was able to judge and comment on a game objectively, without any form of bias, would harshly criticise this horrendous excuse for a videogame - and guess what, across the board, these members of the press have done exactly that. Yet here you are, defending it.
And calling people trolls for pointing out the obvious. And calling me a moron, even though your own sentence is "..because he's ruined my own reputation because of morons like you.". Were you trying to say something along the lines of "his behaviour ruined my reputation also, because now others will criticise me for earlier defending this guy, which means they're stupid because I defended him before he did those bad things"? Yeah, your sentence didn't convey that properly, at all. In fact, were I to actually look at what it says, it says that the dev. has ruined your reputation somehow because of people (morons) like me. Meaning - he was somehow motivated by "us", or his ruining of your reputation was a directly causal consequence of umm, a group of people ("morons like you"). Which doesn't even make sense - it's like saying "the cake tastes like bananas because a squirrel". Because "morons like me" WHAT?
Yeah, your stance on the matter sucked, regardless of whether the revelations concerning the dev.'s behaviour were already out there or not. The game's horrendous, the dev.'s worse, and your language skills are on par. I repeat - it makes me a saaaad panda, knowing people like you get to write reviews that can sway peoples' opinions of things.
Have a great day,

Did u actually look at the metacritic positives scores , and relate them to what ive said , or are you throwing around unfounded accusations. Not sure why calling out people on dishonesty is considered trolling , if that was the case julian assange or james randi are trolls too
Comment has been collapsed.
Id say so , but for a games company to create various fake accounts and boosts its user ratings kinda speaks for itself. I noticed too on company of heroes 2 , theres tonnes of negative user reviews. It seems mostly by russians , i dunno really whats thats about
Comment has been collapsed.
Is there any point in reporting what they are doing to metacritic ?. They must have the ip addresses etc stashed somewhere.

I have actually played the game. I don't recommend it. I wouldn't say it is so awful that it could never be fixed to the point where it was playable. I would more say wait until it is on sale 75% off or bundled. Only then would it be worth a try. I haven't ran into any real bugs, but the game isn't worth much more than $5. Maybe a new base price of $10 and then you can get it at $2.50, would be the better option.
Some Unreal Engine games feel really smooth, like Blacklight Retribution. This one is one of the ones that feels clunky. You don't move or fight well. The puzzles are kind of lazy, but the crafting is alright. The animations are stupid and can take way too long. They also have that button combo, necessary to do many things, type approach. You hold, hit, or repeatedly tap buttons to get many things done. This gets old in a pc game. I switched to a controller for a while, but didn't like playing a FPS with a controller, so I switched back.
Everything else about it should be considered weak. The puzzles aren't very good, the voice acting is awful, and the crafting needs more that can be done. Nothing stands out about the game. Buy it on a 75% off sale, wait until it hits a bundle, or skip it all together. Most people would probably be happy skipping it. It feels like a bad bargain basement game.

Thx for the feedback . After seeing a few youtube vids , it didnt look much .Think ill pass on the game though even if it was fiddy cent .Alot people have caught onto the fact they are deleting 100's of posts ...basically anything that isnt wholly positive. Ive also noticed a few saw my post pointing out the metacritic scores , and are calling em out on it , even one "They also deleted a whole thread pointing out that almost all the positive feedback on metacritic were made by the dev...He actually admitted it and then deleted the thread.." . They are destroying their own PR little by little
I think ill pass on these dodgy devs from now on
Comment has been collapsed.
He never admitted to posting positive feedback on metacritic, stop spewing crap. What he admitted was that he blocked the 0-score reviews, which he has now let go through.
Comment has been collapsed.
How do you know, the thread was deleted in minutes , and a few users had seen what he wrote . Im not the only one who has noticed that something very dodgy is going on here . Without repeating what ive said in my post , its clearly one person. You want to tell me who it is then? ...ps can u reply w/o getting pissy
Comment has been collapsed.
"Its [sic] clearly one person" .... why, because they only have one review? Gimme a break. I don't know who THOSE people are. I don't care about metacritic.

Dammit your avatar always makes me go "aawwWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW" whenever I see it on the forums. Are those really your pets? :3

devs should never be given the rights to moderate or anything else on external stuffs. steam hubs for example should be a place where the players can talk with eachothers peacefully. instead, some devs just ban everyone who don't say good things about their games or act in a "good looking marketing way". a good example would be WarZ. and there on metacritics.. I don't need to explain

It has finally made it to a rating of "overwhelming dislike!" ^0^
Fake positive reviews have been flooding in, but many of them have been deleted by Metacritic. :)

i just looked at totalbiscuit's review of this and this game is horrible.

At first look I thought it would be decent game. :(
Maybe it's just because I'm such a sucker for survival games. XD
Comment has been collapsed.
Banned from the Steam forum for the game? That's the kind of stuff that happened with War Z's release. (Which Valve/Steam seemingly tried to brush under the rug without dealing with it, even though the War Z guy's version of forum modding was violating Steam forum rules.)
Comment has been collapsed.
I like the concept of the game, the Crafting is nice. A few bugs and glitches, but the game run well with PC.
The graphics and gameplay were pretty good, but i preferred the survival elements. It is the best game ever! I hope people stop harassing developers!!
This review is totally legit, I mean srsly, it's legit. Gaiz, srsly. Legit. Like srsly.
It's LEgit! k! k? k.

I think that all this bad publicity is going to turn what was going to be a throwaway game into a cult classic.

Hey, it showed up in the "New on the Forums" section, I commented, and I don't really care all that much that it's been "sleeping", so to speak, for a few days. That's actually not that much time, to be honest, so I'm not sure why you really care. It is still a relevant topic of discussion, at least the last time I checked.

Kinda lol'd a bit when i saw it .
I made a thread on garrys incidents disucssions on steam called
"Metacritic so far" : here is it : {{{{
http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/day-one-garrys-incident
This is very strange, its either a love or hate score , no in between . Most people who hated it ,has an account where they commented on at least 3 other games (except one guy) , and wasnt created just to rate this game .The ones who "loved it" , created their MC account just to give scores to this game, and have never commented on another. You will also notice those that gave a positive mark have oddly very same the same broken english language , and even words "I like the concept of the game"...recur in each of them in the very 1st sentence of the review. Take what you want from this , but i dont think it needs a sherlock to figure out whats going on here }}}}}}
I went back a few mins later , and saw "You have been permanently banned from all Day One: Garry's Incident discussions.
You were banned by a Day One: Garry's Incident developer."
Kinda lol'd at 1st , and then thought ...hey wait they are getting away with making false reviews on their little crappy game on metacritic .1st and only time ever been banned (although by a sneaky dev)
