This is great, but it needs to be explained on the giveaway page, otherwise it's pointless in deterring people from exploiting bundles.

Good point. After all, I think the main purpose was more to "discourage", rather than "punish".

sigh I suppose this is OK, but I still don't like it. Innocent users like me who never gave away bundle keys are getting penalized. I will now be considering other locations/ways to give away my extra games. If you're going to treat me the same way as someone who (attempted to) abuse the system when I didn't do anything wrong, I don't know if I want to make any more giveaways here.

If you make more giveaways so your old value is the 20%, you will have your full value again. I think.

I mean: looking at your profile, it seems pretty clear that you bough both the Potato Sack, and HiB V. Now, it just so happens that 2 games you gave away are in the intersection of these two, and the dates or your giveaways match this hypothesis. That's no proof, but it makes it hard to believe you... Just saying...
EDIT:
Actually, I didn't even have to go that far, you state this in your giveaways! :) Foolish me...
Though your current score hints that you gave away real games in private giveaways.

This only pertains to bundled games like Humble and IndieGala, correct? I ask this because I am hoping steam Collections are not considered a bundle as they most certainly cost more than 5bucks and are usually just 1 game and a ton of DLCs or a series of games.

It doesn't look like any of the corrections we posted appear to have been added. I know you want to get the system out, but why even ask for us to look if you're just going to release it with all the errors?
The list is exactly the same missing the same games and showing games that aren't even on Steam. Ninja Blade is on the list and it's DRM Free, Windosill isn't listed as a key and it was given away in a HIB and everything else.

I think the biggest uproar was concerning the "games that might appear in bundles in the future, and thus lose their value", and that has been dealt with just as the majority wished/agreed -- with the classification depending on the giveaway date. The list itself is, I think, a work-in-progress, put together quite quickly and without any extremely detailed research so far. It will improve, perhaps even thanks to the information provided by you.

Not exactly, no. :(
Your 'bundle list' contributions will only count up to 20% of the value of your 'non-bundle list' contributions.
However, as a concession to small gifters, the first $25 of your 'bundle list' contributions count at their full value. But, when you've contributed $25 or more in 'non-bundle list', then ALL 'bundle list' contributions are then counted at only up to 20% of 'non-bundle list' value.
Contributed Amnesia, Steel Storm, and Really Big Sky; $19.99 + $4.99 + $9.99; all 'bundle list'. The first $25 counts as 'non-bundle list', even though it really isn't. So you get $25 contribution, plus 20% ($5), for a total Contributor Value of $30.
Now, let's say you give away Borderlands GOTY ($29.99). Now you have a 'non-bundle list' value of $29.99, plus a 'bundle list' value of $34.97. But since you get only up to 20% of 'non-bundle list' value from 'bundle list' contributions, your total Contributor Value is $35.99 ($29.99 + 20% which is $6).
This happens because your first $25 of 'bundle list' contributions only count at their full value when you have no other 'non-bundle list' contributions.

But what about games from HiB? There are always ONE key for alle the games (excet the bonus games).. So are those game giveaways as non-bundle or not? And if no - why then? :) It's impossible to give away for example Limbo - it was only in HiB and be only delivered with other games.. :)

Profile page (stats page - charts) on steamgifts still showes up old contribution value.. you should sync that up.
One more suggestion for IGN exploatation.. you can also make similar function like for the bundle games; If the person submited 2 same games that were on IGN they can stay in contributor zone and for every game submitted above second giveaway, to count that giveaways as bundle ones.. that is pretty simple to do. I made 2 as example, because IGN is for INDIVIDUAL use (that is 1 account!).. so there is not explanation for someone to submit 5+ same games from the IGN.

We rolled out a few important updates to the site today.
The first major change is the way contributor values are calculated. In short, the update limits giveaways that might have originated from a bundle to 20% of your total value (Note: Giveaways created prior to a bundle always receive full value). Please review the threads from earlier in the week for the full details. Keep in mind, we'll continue to improve this system as time goes on.
There's no longer a restriction on what games can be given away, assuming they're not guest passes or beta keys. Anything found in the drop down menu when creating a giveaway is allowed. If you're gifting a game from a bundle, please review that bundle's terms of service to ensure you have permission to do so. If you believe a giveaway needs to be removed, please use the report button. There's no reason to post accusations in the comments, and users doing so may be suspended for inappropriate behavior. We'll review reported giveaways, and remove them if necessary. The new system will ensure contributor values are not overly inflated by bundle games.
Thanks to everyone in the community for all the feedback the past week, and I believe we created a system that's fair for everyone. It still leaves room for improvement, and there are a number of great suggestions in the previous thread we'll be exploring in the coming weeks.
