A few users were requesting Prey and the Humble Bundles, so those titles are now available for giveaways. For the Humble Bundles, I just took the average price of each (1: $9.18, 2: $7.83, 3: $4.97).

hey, youre right. prey is on the list of games that can be activated with CD keys! awesome.
although that makes me wonder even more, WHY prey isnt available for purchase on steam

it was... till they had a sale. They ran out of keys for the people who purchased and they never got anymore keys. I don't get why Prey is added since gifting is out of the question and activating a cdkey from somebody else is a nice way to get your account disabled, since you are not the owner of the box, manual and cdkey.

Doesn't matter. Support asks for an image of the cdkey togheter with the number of the support ticket. Only the person holding the game can prove he has it.

Maybe can print a proof of purchase when you activate the game, also what about keys from devs, I won few contests and got only cd key to activate a game.

You don't get a proof of purchase when you activate the game - because you didn't purchase anything.

What Coookie is saying, is that whoever has the physical copy of a physical game (not a digital copy), can at any time contact steam support and use that as proof that they own the game. Steam support will REMOVE the game from your account, and bind it to theirs instead!

As far as cd keys from devs, those are not retail (physical) copies and are totally different.

Contrary to what Coookie said, however, I don't think your account will get disabled, but you do run the risk of the owner taking the game back.

I'm going to put up a Prey contest at some point.

You can buy it from Gamersgate (edit: Nope, not anymore I guess) and they'll e-mail the CD-key, which I assume I can just forward to the winner.

Why would anyone need proof of purchase by the way? What support would you ever need to contact when playing a game like Prey? Valve or 2k? I don't get it...

Anyway, glad it is added, one of my top 5 games for sure. Even though I understand why some people can hate the game.

The reason valve allows this is in case someone stole your CD Key and bound it to their account, you can get it back by proving you own the game.

Forgive my ignorance, but where is this list and how do you go about doing this? I have a few retail games sitting around that I would like to activate on Steam.

Edit: Ok, I found where to active a CD-Key, but if there is a list out there a link to it would be cool. Thanks. :)

It's kinda sad that the average paying price for the Humble Bundles decreased over time

On the bright side, more people will (hopefully) be playing Prey

To be fair most people I've talked to consider the first one to have the strongest set of games (and I agree) and believe the last was the weakest (three games, and they aren't as diverse as the others). Doesn't surprise me really.

:) I paid the most for the 2nd I think...
I already had world of goo at the first, which was the most interesting out of all to me :)
at the third I already had Trine and shadowgrounds didn't interest me at all. I still purchased it for the Splot preorder, but I did pay the least for that one.

Sorry for re-opening this old thread, but I'm a new member.
I've got Humble Indie Bundles 2, which include the first one.
Will this be counted as both or just as one?
