The success of Portal was quite unexpected. The inevitable sequel was not. Portal 2 had impossibly big shoes to fill, so it's a good achievement that the critics could find little other fault with it than that it lacked the surprise of Portal 1.
If you don't own either of the Portal games, enter for the bundle instead. I can't force you, but it just makes sense.
