Then I think I'll stay out for now. She's really a great person, but I need to be able to be myself. I don't want to spend much time phrasing what comes to mind in ways that would not possibly offend anyone. I am who I am.
Thanks for letting me know though. I appreciate it.

I don't know if you saw the thread I started on BAA right before the implosion, but I don't believe in keeping things bottled up. My suggestion could keep the chat drama-free, yet still allow people to voice their grievances publicly in the forum. Too bad it won't get a chance to be tested now that BAA is history.

The "bottled-up" point relates to criticism about other members behavior, group administration, how things are handled within the group etc. Some people have issues with these, and they should be allowed to voice them publicly. But the chat is not a suitable venue for this, especially when it results in an endless stream of complaints that makes people want to not come anymore.

In practice, it didn't work. People voiced their complaints to mods, and were not satisfied with the results. From there road to destruction was set. I prefer things to be more transparent and not have them brewing under ground, eventually leading to end an explosion (or implosion).
Also, not everything is about mods. Some members may use words that other members consider as slurs. Some members discuss subjects that are frowned upon by other members. Who would decide what is acceptable and what isn't if things can't be discussed in public? The problem is that discussing these kind of thing in chat makes it a very unpleasant place.

If you're curious, this is what I suggested:
Title:
Move fight-inducing discussions about the group from the chat to the forum - Yay or Nay?
Body:
The group chat was a great place to be for fun and lighthearted talk. Unfortunately this is no longer the case, and in the last few days it mostly a place for fighting and arguing about what happened and how things are unfair and unjust. Here's an example from a few minutes ago that shows that the current atmosphere just pushes people away (names changed to make this less personal and more illustrative of the problem):
12:40 AM - Baaer: Good night
12:40 AM - Baaist: so hypocritical and lopsided
12:40 AM - Baaer left chat.
You get the point.
I don't think complaints and grievances shouldn't be discussed openly, which is why I'm suggesting to move all such discussions to the forum. The main advantages would be:
So, move fight-inducing discussions about the group from the chat to the forum - Yay or Nay?
