It's illegal to sell retail keys online without the physical copy of the game. That's why Valve migth ban the account. It happened with a lot of Modern Warfare 2 owners who bought the game in cd key stores like this.

Yep its true. My friend was asked by Valve do delete his game(which he got from one of thous sites) from account or hes account going to be closed.

Uh, I thought Valve were the only ones who could remove content from people's accounts. This makes no sense to me. They would not ask him to do it - they would just do it themselves.

No ErrEff is right, your friend lied. It doesn't matter if the game is installed on his computer or not, if Valve believes it was obtained illegally they're going to remove it from your account, you lose ownership of said CD key so you can't play the game anymore.

Pff I looked their site. They are selling mostly regional games. I saw a lot of customers who can't activate keys cause of this. They are offering activate keys for themselves which makes you give your account information to them. Very suspicious for my side. Don't risk your account if you have a lot of stuff in it.
