Hello there :)
So it just happened that I defended my master thesis so that I finally, after 6 long years of studying (3 years for the Master program) I can call myself a Master of Science.
To celebrate this milestone with you guys I prepared a little train for you, I hope there's something for everyone in it.
After I dedicated my whole life to the topic of my thesis (I measured the efficiency of university students with a mathematical model and searched for influencing factors), there's finally some time to play games again, meet friends more often and think about the things that follow after being a student :D

Enjoy the ride!

EDIT: Because of all your overwhelmingly nice comments and because you're such nice girls/guys, i decided to add a special bonus train for all of you!

Yeah of course, I studied media economies. But in my master program I didn't take any media subjects, so it's more like business studies.
Also I specialised in Controlling, Taxes and production economics, so not much media anymore :D

Nice. I'm still struggling with civil engineering, i hope it's my last year to get my licensee degree (Bachelor's degrees) it's been 4 years already :-/

Keep it up, you can do it :)
In my case there were also some times I struggled with studying on, but remember the cause of your studies, find some motivation in some way (there are many)
Good luck with that!

That's a big time commitment. My MBA only took ~2 years, and that felt like a long time. Of course I was working full time during the day at MIT and then going to class full time at night. Not fun.
Well, hopefully it will lead you to a great and interesting career. Congrats! <bump>

Efficiency in finsihing the bachelor degree.
I made the assumption that students are some kind of production system, which uses inputs (such as semesters, time invested learning...) to generate an output in the context of university (practice experience, graduation note...).
In the end it's a very simple representation of a complex process, but it's an approach for further studies and a way to locate possible influencing factors.
But i made the general conclusion that the sense in studying is not to be efficient in a economical sense....so a lot of things to discuss :D

The end of a semester is also something very special, like getting back a little freedom (even though it's just a week :D)
Enjoy your free time!

Thanks for the giveaways Chris!

Congrats on the master's!

Luckily, my university had a one-year MBA program. Six years for a degree sounds insane!

Six years for the Bachelor and Master degree, not only one (that would really be insane....and inefficient! :D )
Normally it takes 5 years from beginning of the studies until you gain your master degree (3 years for Bachelor, 2 years for Master) but I enjoyed it that much that I extended it for one year (not really :D )

Ah, I got you!

I thought you meant you did 4 for the Bachelor's and 6 more for the Master's.

Well I got the same impression. It took me 2 years also to get the title, but I had thought he needed six to get the Master degree. =s

Hello fellow master.

There's nothing like the feeling when you successfully defend.

Except when your thesis arrives bound, that's also special.

Yeah, especially when you correct your last mistakes until 5 a.m. and then wake up at 8 to get your thesis bounded :D
But it's really special to see somehting you created in the last couple of months and feel like you really got something done in that time.

Your subject sounds really special and unique, well done! :)
