Just stop the blacklisting people. It's childish and accomplishes nothing and will only leave you with anger and regrets. Don't be a tool!

I just felt like venting. I don't care if I get more blacklists for making this post.

Reminds me of those suggestions to remove levellimits... and those same people admit to also do level 2+ public giveaways for their own sanity.

I would be angry if I couldn't blacklist people whom I don't want to have a chance of winning my giveaways. It's not childish to prevent access to your giveaways for people you dislike for whatever reason and it obviously accomplishes something.

+1. Especially as it works both ways so you actually have to think about the consequences of Blacklisting somebody. Before the two way, it was just a simple click.

Did you think about consequences when you BL someone ?
I don't.
I think me everytime "I don't want to win something from such people" and "They loose more as i" :-D

Depends on the person I suppose. For some rude, obnoxious, racist and bigoted people, its a no brainer.
Others, that are more borderline, I would consider about blacklisting such as not following/breaking rules of group knowingly, trolling, people that have BL me then remove me to enter my personal event giveaways and then re BL straight after winning etc.
I only have just over double digits on my blacklist so I don't BL lightly. Whether they gain or lose more from my giveaways has no bearing on it as I don't use that ever as a criteria for blacklisting. People have bad days so it really has to be a concerted effort to get on my BL.
I want most people to be able to enter my giveaways according to the rules I set.
At the end of the day, how you BL people is completely up to you. I try to be tolerant but everyone has a limit.

I use never a "i loose more/lesser" as a criteria for my BL.
As example have i very generous people at my BL that are in the same groups as i or are lvl 10.... because they don't said thanks after a win of one of my GA's (i don't exclude someone from that basic manners thanks that i demand as a sign of respect -not to me as a special person but to me as a human-) or because they use autojoiners or done other bad stuff that i don't tolerate.

I only seen very rarely someone that tried to sneak around a BL because he wanted to win special GA's or tried to enter my cake day GA's or something like that.
Maybe because i BL much and not many BL me without that i BL them too.
And maybe because my GA's are mostly "only" 3 days long and so only people that have me first since a short time at the BL can try to take me down and enter then (because you are still blocked for a few days when you take someone down from your BL).

Sure, everyone can have sometimes a bad day. I don't look too closely at it when someone has 1x a bad mood or act XYZ.

When someone from my WL forget a thanks for a GA i wait longer and write him/her if they have forgot it, when i expect it because normaly a thanks come along.

I want that the most users can enter my GA's but at the same time i try to set rules that prevent the most "bad apples" to enter them.
It's impossible to get all 100% under one hat but i try to let it fit for the most as possible with the limitation that the system have and try to have the lowest possible number of nice people that can't enter them.

What I am trying to say in response to both you and the OP is that the BL is completely free to use how you want to use it even if you may not agree or like it. I try to reason rationally before putting people on my BL, you can do what you like and that is absolutely cool and fine as well. In hindsight, I think consequences is probably the wrong word for me to use and maybe justify might be more appropriate as I personally do not want to just put people that don't say thanks as a reason to blacklist. Others put people onto BL once they have won a game from someone cause they want other people to win and that in my mind is one way to use your blacklist.

Like Dano below has said, people worry way too much about blacklisting and they should concentrate on your WL rather than BL. The OP I suspect is more worried about a glass half empty rather than the glass half full. Onwards and upwards Masafor, and I wish you and your blacklist a peaceful weekend. :D

I have rationally reasons for my BL or call it standards.
I don't BL as example people that have other opinions because i am more as old enough to life superb with different people that aren't always have the same opinions as i. It make a exchange possible and sometimes i learn and adapt something and sometime someone else. Thats how life, for me, work.

I think you missunderstood the "consequences" because i focused it on the fact that some people weight if they loose from the BL "good/much GA's" and then maybe don't BL because they don't want to loose the chances to win fromt hat person, and i think you seen the consequences as "thinking about the fact why i BL someone and not do it leightweight (without thinking about it/without a bigger reason)".

I have nearly 3x so much WL as BL, that i worry about the BL number is since around a year gone -since i lowered my spended time at sg drastical (because i was to addicted and let different stuff to near at me to be healthy)-. It is how it is and if i have nearly 3x so much WL as BL i think i do something right :-D
The steamfriends and partly online friends (its a difference for me) that i found/meet at sg say for me the same and make often a good feeling. They make that i am still happy here the most of the time ;o)

I wish you a stressfree christmas holidays time :o)

As you expressed using this thread to vent, did it never occur to you that others might use a simple bl click for the same reason? Why would your method of venting be better?
At least the bl bothers nobody else, it's just some giveaways not being available to everyone. Usually without the people even getting notice of it.

I couldn't give a fuck about being blacklisted or why someone did it.
Most of the people who talk most about it only make giveaways for a handful of people anyway.

So, I checked my stats page because I had a feeling why I had some blacklisting, and, beside some "random" BL (some people blacklist you after you win so to give more chances to people that didn't win -seems they think the site has like 15 people total or something-, some BL for whatever reason), I found a connection between my posting activity and being blacklisted.

Basically, it seems that I earned most of my BL by just voicing my opinion on the forum. Ok I did the same sometimes, but very rarely I do that and never to someone which has a different opinion than mine, but just to very bad people like the hateful and disrespectful ones.
Whatever, or rather, thanks for BL me, since I don't want anything to do with people like you that can't respect someone else's opinion (or sometimes just straight up facts).

I must admit I sometimes am a difficult person to talk to, since at my age (43) my beliefs and principles are so deep-rooted into me that I find it hard to stand some behaviors, like disrespect to others and brain-dead people, but that's also basically an automatic filter for people I don't want anything to do with, and, more or less, SG's blacklist is about the same.

So be thankful for all your blacklists, unless you're just an annoying, disrespectful and hateful prick, in which case you will probably not care.

I don't like that two ones but be sure that someone will send a ticket to the support with "calling out" in the header.
[I don't support that rule in such cases but i experienced it by myself for which crap you get a calling out suspension]

It will give you, at least, a 2 days suspension.

So i would advice you to don't post the examples and edit your post before the support see it (maybe they don't punish then -i don't know-).

They blacklist because they can't stand a point of view in a discussion but aggression is banned here. They BL, the point stands, but somehow they feel content.

Anyway you stay sour enough to post the comment of supremacy. I'd suggest at least YOU would feel content, if your points 'standed' so well..
