My TV's controller has a trackpad and the response is pretty awesome, so I guess I would give it a try.

I haven't used a controller for any PC games yet, so I might get this one if it costs less than around $60.

I don't have a controller for my PC yet and I'm pretty excited to try out the Steam Controller when it comes out so I'm definitely getting it if it's around $60 or less. I really like that everything is programmable and that it works with every Steam game.

Indeed I would, I hate analog sticks. It strongly depends on the price though: if it'll be over 30€ I'll prefer my 360 controller.

:D lol at that picture
I will buy it, mostly to play a few games where a controller is superior to KB/M, like TrackMania and a few platformers. Really like the concept of it

If it actually works as intended... maybe... While I can't pull off the full circle motion I'm doing perfectly fine on the one fighting game I have which I play with the keyboard. :D

I probably would. It looks like a nice concept, and at least they are trying to do something different. I currently have a wired 360 controller which I will keep, but it would be nice to have something I can use while I sit on the couch.

It would depend for me. If I could get my hands on one and test it first, and if it was a for a decent price, and if it felt better then the Xbox 360 controller I just got recently and if that controller died suddenly then sure I would.

There are some games where a controller is better and this is coming from someone who has only used keyboard and mouse mostly and like them. For example Pinball FX2, I prefer the controller to keyboard for that.

I'm pretty happy with KB/M and my 360 pad for the most part, but if it can be bought with Steam Wallet I might give it a shot.

Depends on the price, probably going to be to high anyway. I am pretty happy with KB+M for most games, and for the few that are better with a controller I use my Logitech F310, if they can release it for under $40aud, there would be no reason not to get it.

Valve wants to be a console platform, and turn the pc into a console experience.

I'll always prefer mouse and in for shooting/aiming games, but occasionally I do find a controller better for some games.

So my question is, why would people think valves expertise in making a console environment, be greater than, say, microsofts? I'll stick with my 360 pad, and upgrade to the new xbone pad when it gains full functionality on pc, because they've invested more time and money, and have greater experience and expertise, in crafting the console experience valve is desperate to move their focus to.

Valve needs to learn how to do support if they want to make it into the Living Room market.
Living Room market crowd expects same day support with people that can be reached on phone.
Valve support is 2-4 weeks by their own system.

If I needed a replacement for my PS3 controller, it would get consideration. I'd probably have to try one first, though. I need a good DPad to feel comfortable playing the platformers I enjoy.

If it's under $40, probably yes.

I'd love to try one out first. If I liked it than yes I'd buy it. It does look interesting. I do use a 360 controller right now for some games and have been getting better at using a kb+m for majority of my games. I was a console only gamer until about 1-1/2 yrs ago.

Even though I never play on TV/Big Picture, it looks like a nifty piece of hardware and I'd like to own one because the moment when I stop using KBM and grip the pad instead is a lovely one: like switching mindsets, if you know what I mean. Unfortunately, I doubt it'll be cheap enough for me to justify the purchase.

Not immediately. I'm using xbox 360 controller and it's hard to play FPS game. Trackpad seems useful in FPS...
But at first I'll see price and wait reviews. I don't know about that controller much.

Yes. Because I've seen the demo where they play Civ V with a controller. I really want to play civ v with a controller. Just imagine, all the hours into the game during a winter with your hands resting comfortably under the warmth of a thick blanket while laying on my back on a bed.

No because I can only use 4 fingers on a controller - two thumbs and two fingers. And maybe two middle fingers on the shoulder buttons.

On PC I get five fingers on the left + an extra three on the right, including my mouse's thumb button. That's like 8 fingers.

I'm not talking about buttons, I'm talking about fingers.

Controller uses 4 fingers to hit 16 buttons. PC uses 8 fingers to hit 16 buttons.
