After going through a recent event where someone very close to me was feeling depressed and suicidal, thought I'd make some GA's to get a point across. If you are feeling this way, there is help, and people out there want to help. You're not alone and you are cared about. If you are not of this state of mind, realize that you could be the difference between them getting help, or doing the unthinkable. You will most likely never know how, who, or how many you helped, but that should make no difference. It just matters that you were there. Go and be the best you that you can be. If anyone out there needs someone, i accept all steam friend requests and will reply as soon as i see your message.

Try and keep the thread alive for a while so that more can see it. May i suggest pictures of cats? Anything really.

I'm going to attempt to update this thread once again once a week, between Friday and Sundays.

Change log;
EDIT: http://www.steamgifts.com/discussion/0evEo/an-update-and-moving-forward

EDIT: If you choose to bump with a GA, especially a higher level, and wish for it to be featured on the active GA portion, I suggest a week or longer running length. It can sometimes be a number of days before I can edit this to add new GA's. It's also super helpful if it's in

`[Your Name Here](Profile URL)` | `[Your GA Here](Link to GA here)` | Date Ending

formatI'm switching to a table format. Not required, but it would let me update the main post more, as it currently takes a while, which means less updates.

EDIT: Total number of GA's added to thread as of last update- 1687+
Note that this is likely much higher. From pages 54-94, I assume all trains to contain only 3 games, while they are likely much higher in number.
GA log of past record

I'm no longer going to keep a detailed log of past GA's. It was simply too much work.

The following, continuously updated, users are the real VIP's of this thread. They have contributed to the development of this ever growing thread, either through exceptional giveaways, an exceptional amount of giveaways, or relentlessly bumping the topic, even when it is/was in a period of disarray, and I wanted to thank them for it, not to cheapen anybody else that has contributed, but to celebrate them for it. Treat them kindly.

Game worth 20 points here that is not on the bundle list would do it.

(Is 20 points like £20 or $20 , i'm still learning despite being lvl 5 :P)

$20. The price is based on the US Steam prices.

That's your real cv. Since bundled games give you 15% of their value, you would need to give away in US dollars, $20 of unbundled games or $133 of bundled games.

3 years since I haven't felt completely useless, in pain and alone. After each time I wanted to take my own life after a couple of months I remembered those times and felt relief that I didn't go through with it, but my emotions were cyclical, thankful I received good guidance to break my own personal depressive cycle, it's incredible how far a tiny grain of attitude with a smirk of good will might take you :]

I'm going through the cycle now, what did you do to get rid of it?

Have you ever heard the definition of insanity? Far Cry 3 jokes aside (see pics), I was confronted with a very hard decision... if I wanted things to change in my life I needed to actually work for them, do my part you know! I was scandalized at the things that my therapist asked me to do since they were "my thing", well actually they were my escape routes that turned me numb from the world and helped me deal with the pain and that forsaken HOLLOW that I felt inside of me.

Like I said, I started doing things to become more humble and grateful about what I had in life instead of feeling so damn shitty and looking at things that "if I had X then I would be happy" (funny thing is that when I got some of them after a few days or weeks they felt almost meaningless). Well it took me about a year to actually start feeling happy with my life, having a good attitude and good will to follow guidance were what helped me the most. If you want to chat about it feel free to add me on Steam!

I had similar experience after starting improv classes but it don't help anymore. I'm in the same position as I was a few years ago.

Adding you on Steam, I intend to go to sleep in a few minutes but I'll be happy to talk to you the other day :)

To be honest I don't know. One day I feel happy, the other day I'm a crying bitch and the next day I'm im numb. For no real reason.

What would life be, if it didn't include some obstacles? Overpassing obstacles is the meaning of life. ;) Maybe you are overthinking of life. Life doesn't need any plans. Just enjoy it and don't think about it.

It's normal, but it won't be the norm if you do some changes in your life. Emotions and thoughts are really powerful, we shouldn't indulge in negative insights or they will take over our livelihood and happiness bit by bit.

Be strong! Don't think of what you don't have, but about what you have. Life is hard, but I'm pretty sure you are strong enough to overcome its challenges.

+1

We take SO many things for granted, now my struggle is to be a better person since I have a ton of things to work with myself (lazyness and fears mostly), but I've started to notice some deep changes in myself, specially this last year, GOOD changes I mean!

To overcome your fears, you must face them. It's all about stopping thinking for a moment and facing your fears without hesitation. And your life will improve and you will forget the past.

Yeah >_<

I was so happy few months back and stuff had some meaning, but now I went back to my normal, numb state. It's annoying, as you don't see exit in moments like this, everything is shitty and pointless.

Yeah... but everything passes my salarian-lover dragon friend! Those depression cycles are quite tiresome though, try to break them with positive attitude towards what's still good in life and don't let that black cloud nest in your mind since it will just poison you!

That's what counts! A little of good will and not falling into bad thoughts and attitude, when I start feeling down or shitty about me or my life I try to snap out of it quickly, I even say outloud "oh no, fuck you depression! Shit isn't as bad!" and I thank god for the good things I often forget I have hehe :]

I'm not into the "soul saving"/religious conversion stuff, but I found interesting to know how a single friend and a book helped Michael Phelps to overcome his depression and suicidal thoughts, giving him a renewed will to not only live but actually ENJOY his life, helping him to become the athlete with most medals in history nowadays.

Here's the article, just be advised that it's heavily written under a christian view:
