So I was celebrating my cakeday recently. It was quite a celebration and I made a lot of GAs. One of the winners (well, he was not the only one, but this topic is about him) posted on my profile that he had won and also sent me a friend request which I chose to ignore, as there were so many gifts to deliver and I hate being pushed.
The next day he added me again (d'uh) and I ignored him again. Another day passed and he posted in the giveaway he had won "Hey, I've won but I can't reach you".
At this point I got really annoyed by the guy and made him aware of the FAQ. They mention a period of patience of seven days in which the giveaway creator shall not be contacted (I so wish more people would read this). I also told him I had many gifts to hand out and that I find it unpleasant to be pushed that way.
He acted like "Had no idea a little comment like this would be seen as pushing. You could have told me you are short on time. I only added you to say hello and thank you - yea, really unpleasant. Whatever..."
I pointed out that it wasn't only about the little comment but all the actions he performed and how annoying it felt to me and sent him the game.
Well, now I found out he blacklisted me.

If I won that giveaway I'd add eeev to my blacklist either.

Why?

I am totally opposite. I prefer people to contact me asap when they win my gifts. I blacklist people for being too slow or unresponsive. I stopped giving away gifts here cuz it takes a lot of work.

A lot of work ?!

If this is a lot of work for you, I can't imagine how you handle work/job in real life...

I am CEO of a software company. Don't worry about my RL.

Well exactly that's my point... If you're a CEO, how can you find giving games on website "A lot of work" ?

You don't need to contact winners directly, just send them the key or the gift by mail, and that's it.

I haven't had any impatient winners yet, but it's totally within your right to wait. I probably would have just given him/her the gift to solve the "problem;' however, I can totally see your perspective. If I had a ton of games to send out and someone is pestering me, it might just be the "last straw" at that particular moment. As far as the blacklist is concerned, here's a relevant pic.

There are worse things in life. Let it go ... you can't just be upset every time you 'think' somebody want to upset you.

  1. Ignoring a friend request was a bad idea. The winner could have a really bad experience with getting won games and he could have thought this is one of them too after your ignored his friend request. You should have just left it where it was and accept it when you have some free time.
  2. The winner could be really happy with your gift and that's why he/she acted abnormally.
  3. The winner could be an @sshole.

As you can see I just managed to write 3 possibilities and only one is where you can be really angry, but I've written other 3/10/100. I really wish nothing worse would every happen to you! :)

I'll send gift on my own, adding the winner when I can, I'm free to decline the friend request for whatever reason :)
If someone has given away plenty of games he/she surely knows how the site works, no need to be pushy asking for your win.

I have comments open on my profile so if you've a question you can write it there and I'll answer when I have time.

I'm not gonna get into who's right and who's wrong because I think both sides have a point, but my god, some people are so trigger happy with their blacklists!

What, do you people get a thrill out of blacklisting people? "It took him too long to send me the gift and he ignored my friend request!" well boohoo! And it's far from the dumbest reason I've seen for blacklisting on this site. And honestly, half the time the people quick to blacklist are those that don't really give anything anyway.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Its a shame to hear about how people feel entitled to their wins and that they must get them ASAP with no regards to the wonderful hosts that make this site possible. Not only did this person break the rules of SG, but they broke your personal rules for friend requests. Now to top it off, they blacklisted you after they won a game from you.
Thankfully this is a new month and I hope it treats you much better <3
