:))
Here's my 5 & 1/2 years old PC:
Intel Quad Core Q9300 2.5GHz
ASUS Striker II Formula
ASUS Geforce 285GTX 1Gb DDR3 (factory OC)
SupremeFX II
4 x 2Gb RAM DDR2 ADATA 800MHz
1Tb WD Caviar Black SATA III 64Mb

Haven't played a single game on less than High so far, most of them on Ultra which is actually cool for me.
However, those 5 years are starting to show up.
I guess I'll change it in a year or so.

Time to change soon cuz DX11 exclusivity (or more specifically lack of Pixel Shader 5) is about to render that GTX285 useless just like my GTX260. You already can't play Crysis 3 and apparently the same will be true for Dragon Age - Inquisition and ever more new titles from now one.

Yeah, I know.
In the past few months I started being careful about the games I install since I started to see a serious decrease in the FPS average.
I just don't have the money right now.

no, it has nothing to do with FPS...it has to do with Crysis 3 and other future games being plain incompatible

The same thing happened to me before with my X850XT which didn't have Pixel Shader 3. Tried to launch Assassin's Creed and the game ran, but the entire screen was just black cuz the card couldn't handle it. So either a similar thing would happen with Crysis 3, or the game plain wouldn't allow you to install it because of the incompatibility with your card.

That's not what I meant.
I said I'm starting to see FPS decrees in new games lately and I'm taking that as a sign it's time to upgrade.

Crysis 3 it's a different story. I didn't even bother installing it.

The thing is I never considered upgrading before 5 years, especially after I tried a lot of DX10 games and all had stupid problems forcing me to play mostly on DX9.
They all advertised DX10 but most of the devs were too lazy to do it right. I just hope I won't encounter these problems on DX11 games

I use a Commodore 64 overclocked to 1.374 MHz with two 1541 floppy disk drives and a Datasette drive. It plays at a stunning 320X200 with 16 colors! Unfortunately my family can't afford a color TV so I have to play it on a black and white. We're hoping that Santa Clause will bring us a new color TV and an Atari joystick for Christmas this year so I can play Loderunner in all of its glory!

Wait... this isn't 1982 anymore, is it?

Low budget build that I plan on upgrading slowly in the future, PSU first then GPU etc. Runs quite well as it is though, I'm happy with it.

Picture of my internal mess
And the even bigger mess that was in my old s̶a̶u̶n̶a case (I'm not the one who put that one together)

My upgrades always lag behind. It's either the GPU or the CPU+Motherboard+RAM that have the upper hand. Never in sync.

Also I play everything on 1024x768. Don't judge me. Anything higher feels like someone's stabbing me in the eyes and gives me a massive headache. (Hooray for playing on a lower resolution not putting as much strain on my system compared to the people who want to play in 1080p)

Originally I had an Acer Aspire M3970 PC (It came with an Nvidia GT 520 which sucked rather badly for a graphics card)
I upgraded a few things:

i5-2320
8 GB 1333 MHz RAM
Sapphire HD 7950 Boost
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Gold (I first bought a Seasonic 660W Gold but it died a few days later and I had to get this instead; I don't regret it though)
1 TB Seagate HDD
Philips 224EL (1920x1080@60Hz)
Windows 7 64-bit
