just finished a 1/2 a year project yesterday night...during a bit rough times (no income at all), and tho i still haven't got paid, and most of it will probably go to pay bills :-D

i wanted to create a small thank you train especially for:

  1. God almighty who i couldn't do it without his help on each day and day.
  2. my family who supported me the whole time
  3. and you the active community that gives chances even for us who cant afford games, to get a glance of happy playing times :-)

thank you all

its not much i admit, but its all i have so... enjoy ^_^

All aboard the train!

(Bump the thread if love this community...)

Well it just goes to show, if you can do this, then so can many of the others who make all excuses for never giving anything.

Well done to you, and congratulations for 1/2 way through a good project, success with the rest of it!

I think MRLW said in the post that he or she finished the project; it too him/her 1/2 a year to finish the whole thing.

Urr.. yep.. I mis-read, saw it as '1/2 of a year project'... In that case, even more congratulations for being all the way finished, hehe.

No sweat. It was an easy mistake to make. I had to go back myself to confirm that I hadn't misread what was written. I was just looking through the comments, and thought I would try to politely correct you, since I can't seem to help but be pedantic at times.

I'm not Jewish myself, but there is a pretty strict policy of Aniconism in Judaism, to the point that even His name can't be written in full or spoken by strict Orthodox observers of the religion. Since we don't know His true form, a flying spaghetti monster seems to be as good a guess as any other. Perhaps He knows that His true form can't be understood by mere mortals, and so He chooses to appear this way whenever He happens to meet Pastafarians.

Well, I was mostly joking. I'm not especially religious myself (I perhaps identify most with Buddhism, but I was raised as a Christian), but I have studied world religions in college, and wanted to share some interesting information while trying to subtly push others towards a more tolerant attitude to beliefs that don't necessarily match their own.

Again, I'm not Jewish myself, but my understanding was not necessarily that He was formless, but that humanity would not be able to comprehend His form. Like a two-dimensional creature from Flatland trying to imagine a cube (an actual cube, not a two-dimensional representation of a cube), or a three-dimensional being trying to imagine a tesseract (an actual tesseract, not a three-dimensional representation of a tesseract). Though I may be mistaken, or misremembering, of course. If you don't mind my asking, may I ask the denomination or sect to which you belong?

Edit: Now that I think about it a little more, formless and a form we can't imagine might as well be equivalent, since both ideas are beyond our comprehension. Please understand that I'm not trying to nit-pick here; I really enjoy learning new things, and I want to verify that what I think I know is accurate.

i belong to the Orthodoxes Jewish :-)

and you a bit wrong (by Jewish point of view of curse), by Jewish bible and believe god is formless and is explained as - with No body or body image (i dont know how to translate it correctly...)

you are correct tho about that we cant comprehend His form as he is endless and first, nothing before him and nothing after him, and such he has no form.

Well, it's better to find that out now than to embarrass myself later. Thanks for sharing, and being willing to answer questions, even though they might seem dumb or obvious. It's nice to know that gaming is a universal hobby that can bring people together from around the world to have interesting discussions like this.

Also, I want to say that you have been incredibly patient and kind in all of the comments here in this thread, and I'm glad to see that you take your beliefs and religion seriously enough that you aren't afraid to laugh about it when people disparage them. I know that sounds contradictory, but in my experience, people who are secure in their beliefs and themselves are willing to laugh at themselves and their beliefs along with the outsiders looking in; it's the doubters who insist that their beliefs are too solemn to be mocked that often seem as though they are trying to convince themselves, not others, of how seriously they take their beliefs.

questions are never dumb or obvious, if someone ask a question then its important to him, and if you can answer it - then do it :-)

and well to tell the truth a big part of my gaming time when i had a dissent internet connection was on mmorpg, because of that reason, its a platform that mix the good and bad, dissent and well undissent population, moral and unmoral, a mix of beliefs and knowledge not mentioning cultures, i bumped to a lot of good people out there and few bad ones, a lot who wanted to help and some who wanted to just use you...those who wanted to build communities others who wanted to destroy them... its life inside life :-P

tho i play less...and less these days especially as i don't have time...nor a good connection to the internet ^_^

also i don't know about the "patient" part, i just don't want to start a fight,

wanted to say thanks for the impotent parts in my life - and i did, and for that sake i can take a joke or too on my expense (less so on god expense tho), i promises you if this comments were on a less public oriented sites, and on different subject on hand like on a community that believes in god, my replies would have been less tolerant and more strict...and harsh.

so basically i think here there should be some amount of respect and tolerance , even if the believes are different, and besides i don't think its possible not to believe in god, in the end you get to the point (even from science point of view) that you cant explain how things come to be, what made them? how the roles were created? and what created them? and so on - that is the concept of god, he has no beginning and no end, no form, no roles no limit, he aint bound to time etc'

ahh well...it getting too religious for some people :-P
