Down the webpage of giveaway (https://games.steelseries.com/ucf/show/14018/boards/promotions/Giveaway/dead-by-daylight-steam-game-key-giveaway) appears this message:

I claimed a key about 15 times with errors each time only to not get any damn thing. Their site is barely functional.

Had the exact same thing happen. Gotta agree with you. Yeah, FCK em.
I was logged in all damn day & soon as I tried clicking on anything, instant white screen.

I got a key I was very lucky I reloaded the page at the exact moment

Ya :/ it really makes it difficult for some people like me who might be in a class or work at the time the keys are launched. Can't be looking at twitter all the time waiting on an announcement that keys are available.

<30 seconds. The server apparently crashed.
I spent all day refreshing the site every hour, the tweet came secondary. I never saw the keys were available at the time and only gone back to twitter and saw that indeed it was up.
What's stupider is that in the amount of time it takes to just sign in (because apparently the site doesn't keep you signed in for a certain amount of time) and load the page, those keys are already grabbed up. I felt bad for the folks out east who waited all day and it took this long for this to happen. And then some had an error, or that the keys were gone despite pressing the button.
I've seen a similar fiasco with certain Alienware giveaways int he past. Some of the pools were set to levels so low, they're guaranteed to be depleted. They had a pool system for higher levels that wasn't set up which was the purpose of its existence, and it wasn't even used at that time. I missed a game because of it when they were running another one simultaneously! Frustrating.

Well... I read the tweets on their page. So many idiots sitting around ALL DAY refreshing their page and complaining about the GA not being up yet. LOL! With only 500 keys going and over half a million followers, how did people actually think that was going to go. Those who got a key were incredibly lucky. It's a bad system. Even if I wanted this game (Not my cup of tea), I wouldn't have bothered. It's not worth the effort for a tiny chance of winning. XD

i saw on forums about 20 people getting a key, some of them even x2, and some people also got here even.

Yeah, but those are the ones sitting around all day watching the site, and even some of those wouldn't have been so lucky. Did you see the posts on twitter? "I've been sitting here since x time last night refreshing my page and I need to sleep soon." Stuff like that. Is it really worth it for a 20 dollar game that has gone on sale many times for less than €10?

i agree, but i think they just monitor while doing something also on pc, so they don't lose that much.

The ones that got 2 keys are used for sure helping scripts, bots, programs....
I know someone that got 11 Games at ONE day from the kinguin thing at the begin... and he had that """"luck"""" each day. Yes at the time as each, normal, one got only error messages and said after 1-2 seconds were the games gone.
I said him, very clearly, what i think about people that make themself 20 accounts.... and use helping stuff on top of it.
One of his friends (both at sg) had the same ammount of accounts and wins.
I will never understand such behavior

Yeah, it's sad.
All you have to do is look at some of the people who frequent Steam Trades, then you understand. They buy bundles that cost them very little, oh and some have the cheek to claim that some of their lists are non-bundle. Then they expect to get non-bundle games in exchange for something they got very cheaply, just so they can resell them on G2A etc. Or, they want your top tier Humble game for some shite game that you can get in a cheap bundle and won't settle for a fair trade.
That's the kind of person who sets up bots to steal multiple keys from a giveaway. They're resellers. Whether they are being given for free or not, it's still stealing. They're stealing from legit gamers who want 1 copy. You couldn't walk up to a booth handing out free samples and walk away with the entire lot. XD

It have nothing to do with luck when people use scripts, bots and other stuff to grab all in seconds and make themself 20 accounts on top of it.
Oh and i wondered myself about the fact that i BL you but after looking closer at your GA's, a lot of copies from all free given games at the times they were free to get somewhere, i know now exactly why i had done it.
And i know too why you come around and talk as bot, script and other stuff using is the normalest of the world and as 20 accounts are complete ok.
