Title says most of what I want. It doesn't have to be a Steam game.

I'd prefer a game that has great singleplayer gameplay and story (I love story games), but I won't mind multiplayer.
It'd be nice if it was free-to-play, but if it's cheap (i.e. less than 2 bucks), I can also go for paid games.
But it can be a not-so-cheap game as long as it's singleplayer-only, because...well...ahoy, matey! (I'm such a scumbag)

CPU: Pentium Dual Core E6600 @ 3.06 GHz
RAM: 3 GB DDR3
Graphics: Intel G41 Express Chipset graphics.

Whoever recommends me the game that I like the most will get a private giveaway of the next Humble Bundle that he/she wants (non-BTA/BT6).

Some low-end FPS that I have played (all on lowest graphics settings):
Half-Life (have all the HL games, but have only played the first one so far),
Counter-Strike series (except GO. Can't run that),
COD 1 and 2 (not UO yet),
Battlefield 1942 and BF2,
Garry's Mod,
Combat Arms,
A.V.A. (so laggy though)

Please note that my graphics is especially bad at rendering particles.
My framerate even drops down to less than 10 on Half Life when I'm looking at smoke/fire.

And I suffer from FOV sickness, so an FOV slider would be nice :P

EDIT 1: Thanks for all the suggestions :D
I didn't expect so many!

Since it'll take me too long to try them all and pick out a favorite, I'll just post the private giveaway links for the NEXT weekly Humble Bundle here so that everyone who visits this thread can enter it ^.^

EDIT 2: So far I've tried COD UO and will soon be trying the older Medal of Honor :P Anyway, here are the private giveaways.

I once had the javascript code for a Wolfenstein-like pixel FPS, but google doesn't really help me out right now.

I have to admit that the story wasn't very great, but I can assure you that it runs on almost everything that supports javascript and keyboard input :3

Edit: found it

And as Khalag pointed out, Max Payne 1 & 2 should run fine. I can even run them on my 10 year old notebook with an Intel graphic chip.

Also you can try freeware Marathon Trilogy. It is an early game by Bungie, and there are indications that it takes place in the same univesre as Halo. It has pretty deep storyline for it's time and genre.

thanks for that, reminded me of:

  • Outlaws
  • Thief 1/2
  • XIII
  • Die Hard: Nakatomi Plaza
  • Nitemare 3D
  • Blake Stone
  • Star Trek Voyager
  • No One Lives Forever
  • Vampire The Masquerade
  • Left 4 Dead 1 should work on your PC maybe??

If you look back into late 80s/early 90s and then mid to late 90s, there are a TONNE of weird FPS out there. I remember one in the mid 90s that had you fighting evil santas.

Yeah! That was the first FPS I played! Your system should definitely be able to handle it. Has a great multiplayer too, if people still play it.

Try Retro Blazer. You can download the alpha for free from their site. It doesn't really have a story, but it's a good gameplay-centered oldschool FPS.

man, i have got something epic.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein, this game requires true skill, not as shitty cs. True fun and awesome game. Addictive.

shame that the game is dying, but still you can have awesome battles on a few servers.

Chaser. It has like 10-15 hour campaign and is currently included in FPS Warriors 2 Bundle @ Bundle Stars. Painkiller Black Edition should also work on integrated GFX, but it doesn't have much story to it. Unreal II: The Awakening and Tribes: Vengeance are great. Soldier of Fortune (1 & 2), Call of Duty, Red Faction, Chrome, SiN, Tron 2.0, Halo.

Aside from being a great game, the original Unreal Tournament has ludicrously low graphics requirements.

I remember playing it in software mode on a cruddy old Celeron 450Mhz with a graphics card that would have been outperformed by most calculators.

Scribblenauts,I would recommend Unmasked as it's new but the budget is too high. You can get Unlimited though(trading for it will be much cheaper as it was in bundle.

I had 16 hours of guranteed fun and completed it entirely.
